No verification email that free Kinect adapter for Xbox One S has been processed?

I pre-ordered the Xbox One S a couple weeks ago and just got it yesterday. My previous Xbox One and Kinect were both registered with my Microsoft account. I registered the Xbox One S yesterday with my Microsoft account.

I requested a call from Microsoft and after 68 minutes got a call back. Spoke with someone wholly incompetent. First, he said there was no Xbox One S registered with my account. I told him I was signed into my account and looking at it, at which point
he said, "oh, let me open my tools to see if it's registered". What?!? Why would he say it's not registered if he doesn't even have the correct "tools" open? When I asked why he said it wasn't registered, he said it was because he wasn't looking at my account.
What?!? And then he kept talking about sending me a Kinect, and I had to keep correcting him and saying that I don't need (or want to get charged for) a Kinect, and that I just needed the Kinect adapter for the Xbox One S. After verifying my address and
saying he was processing the order, he said he needed to place me on hold and hung up on me. I have yet to receive a callback from him, despite him taking down and verifying a phone number to call me back on "in case we get disconnected". I have yet to receive
an email verifying that I will be receiving a Kinect adapter.

I have requested another call from Microsoft and have to wait 48 minutes, but at this point, I have little confidence I will speak with someone who knows what they are doing.

If we have the old Xbox One, the Kinect, and the new Xbox One S all registered under the same account, why can't we just request a Kinect adapter online?

Are we supposed to get a verification email that our free Kinect adapter is being processed/sent?

The offer to get a free Kinect adapter as part of upgrading to the Xbox One S
has already expired (March 2017), so it is no longer possible to get these for free.

It is still available for purchase in the Microsoft Store.

 

Here's how to request your free Kinect adapter for the Xbox One S:

Collect the serial numbers for your original Xbox One console, Xbox One S console and Kinect sensor. If you plan to trade in your original Xbox One console, it's crucial you collect the original console's serial number beforehand.

Contact Xbox Support:
support.xbox.com/.../contact-us

and request your free adapter. You'll be asked to hand over your three serial numbers, so make sure these are nearby.

Before contacting Xbox Support, it's recommended that you register your two consoles and Kinect sensor online. If registered prior to the call, the Xbox supervisor can quickly pull the serial numbers from your Microsoft account.

 

I don't think you read what I wrote at all.

I already registered all three devices prior to contacting Xbox Support. I wrote everything out.

 

Hi, according to
support.xbox.com/.../kinect-adapter you do need to contact customer support and they should be able to make an order for a free adapter.

As to why you can't make the request yourself, that is indeed a mystery.

And yes, you should receive an email that your adapter is being shipped.

 

Yeah, you would think that a multi-billion dollar technology company like Microsoft would be able to create an online form for requesting the Kinect adapter, especially if all three devices are registered with the account that wants the Kinect adapter.
