No valid payment but just put in card info

As far as my experience goes Xbox 360 games with gold needs a valid payment option for you to avail.

The easiest way is to put your payment info example credit card then after getting the game just remove payment/billing options via Microsoft website

I have a card linked to my account. It has worked previously. When I try to "buy" the game, I can't even get as far as putting in my payment info.

I tried it today and I am now being told I don't have a valid payment method so I will try adding another credit card.

See below, just took this from my account details, this card has expired and as it says below you have no valid payment options on file??????

So how did they manage to carry on taking payments????? thanks for info dcosper

As other Ambassadors says, we need more infos to understand exactly what's the problem. As additional information, also if you have enough fund on your Microsoft Balance, you need a valid Payment method (credit card, prepaid card, Paypal for example) and
a valid billing address (valid for your payment method and for your Microsoft account region). Let us know.

You need to put a valid payment method in credit/debit card or PayPal as it is a subscription contract that renews after the introductory period.
