    No support for military overseas

I'm a military service member overseas and recently bought an xbox one. The disk drive will not read any disks. I called support looking for help. They were less than facilitating of my circumstance. Not only did they tell me I couldn't get a new console,
they also did not offer any compensation. Daren the supervisor was most helpful when offered an empty apology. I have been playing xbox for ten years now and expected better support. Guess xbox is too big to worry about one military guy. Thank you for the
forum to voice my dissatisfaction. It hurts to see xbox go down this road and I hope this post helps bring the support back to the customer.

    :)

"This offer is not valid in your region, or it has expired."

Alright, so after attempting to redeem a code for a game, I get the above mentioned error. I'm in the US Army stationed in South Korea. I just bought an Xbox 360 Kinect that included two games; FableIII, and Halo: Reach download code. I purchased the Xbox
brand new from the Post Exchange(PX). For those of you that don't know, they import everything from the states. The Xbox, games, and my Xbox Live account are all North America region. Keep in mind, every game Ive tried works so far on this
console except the redeeming of Halo: Reach Full Game Download.

I've tried on both Xbox.com and Xbox Marketplace. It always comes back with the same error; "This offer is not valid in your region, or it has expired." I've changed my locale from United States to Korea and vice versa. I'm out of options, and before I
call up Xbox(because its not cheap), I wanted to check on here for any ideas. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

Some content requires that your account region and physical region match. This is to stop people creating accounts from different regions to get around content region locks.

    -

So in this case the IP you have is identifying you as being in South Korea while your account is North American and so the marketplace will not let you redeem the code.

    -

Changing the console location in Settings will not change this unfortunately.

Out of curiosity are these discs that you bought during your deployment or ones that you brought with you from the States?

You can return the console via your retailer usually within the first 30 days why didn't you do that?

Usually it'd faster to take it to your retailer

They would only replace it with a refurbished unit

If you want a new one you will have to head to your retailer assuming you are within the return polcig

You should have went in and exchanged via the retailer. Much quicker anyway. Don't try to sound entitled.

that is a really unfortunate circumstance, are you overseas somewhere that xbox is supported? back in the day i would have suggested sending it home to a family member or friend to send in. some times there are no right answers, only possible ones. not the
ones we want to hear. i have been on that other end for a long time and it sucks sometimes in cases like this. there has to be a little give and take from both sides. as to them setting up the repair from the usa address or if they really were not being nice.
they could say that the console is tampered do to being used with an unregulated power supply . by plugging into a converter to switch from 220 to 110. i had to use one when i was over the in Philippines. unless the console was designed for 220. but really
