    No subwoofer when streaming audio or video


    I have my xbox one set to use HDMI audio Bitstream out. This gives me full sound on games and blu-ray. But when I stream a video on youtube, it does not. I think I only get stereo (from now on, stereo means I get anything from my subwoofer.). I also only
    get stereo when streaming an mp3 from my upnp device.

    This is not my sound systems fault. I get full sound on everything when I use my PS3.

    I tried what this post suggests, but both games and streaming only output stereo sound.

    Under Audio settings, Volume->Set up TV& A/V control, I set the "Audio" setting to "Surround sound". But that setting should only effect signals from an attached cable box. Right? I don't have one attached.

    All tests were performed with the exact same song, youtube video, and game. I only tested blu-ray once.

    Is there anything else I can do?

    Hi! This is just a general audio set-up question...

    So, I recently inherited a Samsung TV Model: LN46E550F6F that has absolutely no audio outs: no bluetooth, no RCA, nothing, and the built-in speakers are terrible. Currently I have the XBOX One connected via HDMI; it's the only media device I use (for streaming,
    video games, watching movies etc.) so support for Live TV is not important. Is it possible to connect an audio device (I'm looking at an LG Audio Bar and subwoofer with Toslink capability) to the SPDIF directly on the XBOX and keep the HDMI connected to the
    TV for video, or do I need an A/V receiver also? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

    I'm having this same issue with Hulu and hbo go all other video streaming apps work fine but I cannot get video streaming to work properly. With Hulu it's video stuttering and with hbogo I have no video or audio. I've spent hours on customer support with
    all aforementioned companies to no avail. Please can anybody help??

    The Xbox 360 media player had to make some cuts to fit in the Xbox 360 system memory. For MP4 video files, multiple audio streams (and selection thereof) is not supported. The Xbox 360 will always play the first audio stream of a media file, with no way
    to change the audio stream.

    You might have to remove the English audio stream from the file or remux it, so the Spanish language track is the first in the file.

    Xbox Series S doesn't allow audio passthrough on Netflix and YouTube app

    The xbox is not doing internal decoding on Dinsey+ and Prime video apps, since it's sending undecoded DD+ to the amp.

    When the Xbox is set to send Dolby Digital w/ passthrough enabled as you suggest, amp gets Xbox DD decoded audio stream from Netflix instead of getting DD+ Netflix native audio stream. same issue on YT, except for 5.1 content, which results for the amp in getting DD+ native audio stream from YT.

    Hope this is more clear.
