No sound with live TV

Everything has been working fine, told Kinect to change the channel and then no more sound. I've got DircTV connected to Xbox via HDMI, then HDMI from Xbox to the TV. There is an optical cable from the TV to the sound bar.

I have sound from the Xbox (commands, games etc.) but not anything from DirecTV. If I move the HDMI in cable from the Xbox to the TV I have sound from DircTV so I don't think its the cables, plus everything was working.

Is there some crazy setting I'm missing or something else I need to reset?

I have the same issue. Sound works great with the games and the UI, but it's muted for live TV. Any suggestions?

No sound with live TV

I've tried 2 different setups, from simple cable box > Xbox > TV. Also tried cable box > xbox > sound bar > TV. I get no sound from either. HDMI cables used for both setups. I get sound from the xbox UI and games, but nothing from TV. What am I doing wrong?

Similar problem here, but everything's coming from HDMI out pass-thru.

When I first power up my XB1 and go to Live TV I get a picture and no sound. On random occasions I get a black screen (no picture AND no sound). To correct the sound issue I typically have to remove the HDMI OUT cable from the XB1, wait a few seconds and
then plug it back in, sound returns. When the Live TV is just a blank screen I typically have to restart the console. Both issues are really annoying and I never had the issue prior to the NXOE. The problem's existed since I was in the Preview for NXOE.

I'm watching FIOS Local channels via Tivo to the XB1.

By now you'd think this issue would have been resolved.

Hi Dchase36, sorry to hear this. We've tested a lot with the RNG110 (I had one in my office) and I hadn't seen this. Can you try a few thing?

1) Set you STB audio to stereo, not DTS/Dolby/Surround

2) In Live TV troubleshooting, make sure that surround sound is unchecked

3) If none of that works, try unplugging the power from your STB for 10 seconds, then plug it back in

4) Try quitting and restarting Live TV by going home, then hitting menu while TV is playing in the big tile, and selecting quit. The start TV again

5) You can also try hard power cycling the Xbox One. Press and hold the power button on the console for about 10 seconds 'til it powers off.

Let me know if any of these things help.

I tried all those suggestions, still no audio. I'm also seeing a pattern on these forums of lack of audio with the RNG110 box, which makes me wonder if that's the problem.
