No sound with live TV

Hi,

since the October preview update the sound in the TV App is not working anymore. I can still watch TV, but the sound is missing there. I still hear menu and game sounds.

I am using a Set-top Box (Skymaster DXH11), which is connected with the XBox (HDMI in). I have a soundbar (Sony HT-XT1) connected to the XBox aswell. It makes no diffrence if I have it unplugged or connected to my XBox.

When I connect the receiver directly to my Samsung TV, the sound will get transmitted and everything is working as intended. But what's really strange is, that I can set my Set-top Box to play radio and the music coming from the Set-Top Box is recognized
by the Xbox, so I can listen to the music coming from my Set-top Box within the TV App.

I have tried every combination in the digital audio settings of my Xbox. I also tried to reconfigure all my devices in the Xbox settings. I have reseted my Set-top box to factory settings. Unfortunattyl I haven't found any audio settings in the Set-top Box.

I have the same issue. Sound works great with the games and the UI, but it's muted for live TV. Any suggestions?

No sound with live TV

I've tried 2 different setups, from simple cable box > Xbox > TV. Also tried cable box > xbox > sound bar > TV. I get no sound from either. HDMI cables used for both setups. I get sound from the xbox UI and games, but nothing from TV. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Dchase36, sorry to hear this. We've tested a lot with the RNG110 (I had one in my office) and I hadn't seen this. Can you try a few thing?

1) Set you STB audio to stereo, not DTS/Dolby/Surround

2) In Live TV troubleshooting, make sure that surround sound is unchecked

3) If none of that works, try unplugging the power from your STB for 10 seconds, then plug it back in

4) Try quitting and restarting Live TV by going home, then hitting menu while TV is playing in the big tile, and selecting quit. The start TV again

5) You can also try hard power cycling the Xbox One. Press and hold the power button on the console for about 10 seconds 'til it powers off.

Let me know if any of these things help.

I tried all those suggestions, still no audio. I'm also seeing a pattern on these forums of lack of audio with the RNG110 box, which makes me wonder if that's the problem.
