No sound to headset

After being idle for awhile I do not have sound to my headset - XB1. Any suggestions?

Hey there Southern! Let's see what we can do to get things sorted.

To start things off, here's a couple questions for you:

Do you have game sound set to come through your headset? Or do you only have voice set to come through the headset?

Are you able to try a different controller to see if that yields better results?

no sound in headset

I haven't used my turtle beach headset in a while. Last night I got it out but couldn't hear any sound coming out of it. So I got out an Xbox headset and tried it but still no sound. I tried a voice message to one of my friends using the Xbox headset and
played it back and I could hear that message. But I still can not hear any sound through my headsets. Anyone have any suggestions?

Yes it is.

The standard wireless xbox headset sound is better then the standard xbox cable headset sound

So from the sounds of it the best bet is a headset that has the desired sound specs that likely plugs into the xbox but then broadcasts to the headset (game/system sound wireless) but chat sound/chat capabilities is direct from the controller (headset adapter)?

If that is correct the A50s sound like the logical choice correct? Or is there another option?

If you are talking about the Chat headset, that comes with Xbox One, then No. If you are talking about Stereo Headset, with an Stereo Headset Adapter. then Yes. Using the Stereo Headset Adapter give to both Chat and Game sound to the headset. If you TV,
is connected to the Xbox, your TV sound, will go to the headset.

Hey there Luke!

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with his issue trying tog et your headset to show up.

Now, I would say to try the steps outlined in our Xbox One Chat Headset troubleshooting article if you haven't yet. You said that you recently
took the controller apart, if there was some sort of problem with the jack port, then I would say you may want to try and bypass that with the Xbox One stereo headset adapter and see if that helps.

Have you tried updating the firmware on the controller as I believe doing that is clearing a number of the issues being presented. Also while the wiring may be good, the jack socket itself may have given up the ghost which would also lead to it not working.
