No sound to Astro A50's via Mixamp... only through new chat adapter

Omg, i nust put my xbox one online for sale... Ive had enough, this console is just awful. Ive been a microsoft guy since halo combat evolved but this was the straw on the camels back. M$ couldnt just resist making us have a 2 channel audio adapter in
the controller. My a50s will not work, the second dolby digital light wont go on. It was kinda sorta working after playing arpund with sound outputs on xbone. Used m$ chat adapter and boom, 2 channel, and will not work with mixamp anymore. Its not surround
sound. I cannot update my controller, again, i did already, but now xbox doesnt recognize the controller IS plugged into the console. Oh and now controller wont turn off, and will not turn xbox back on remotely. My kinect is detached, whata waste.

 

Hey Xsilence Xsilence... Im pretty good technically, and have been threed ays trying to figure it out. I CAN get sound when my headsets attached by cable to the controller, but guess what EINSTEIN, its two channel, wtf would i use 2 channell? It seems
like you can play that way, but us big boys want 7.1.

 

I am also having the same exact issue. All of a sudden the DD (Dolby Digital) button will not turn on. I am getting all my sound through the headset adapter and when i unplug that, I loose all sound completely. I cant figure this out and I have tried everything.
I even purchased a new Mixamp to see if that would fix it. Still nothing. Does anyone else have any ideas?

 

I'm having the same problem, I follow the steps, make it so that voice chat is on full, then hold the chat button etc, and then the chat is really loud with no game audio, so I correct the audio with the game audio button and it turns off after 5 minutes,
any help? Please?!

 

Fixed my problem with turning off every 5 minutes, had the optical in the wrong slot, damn youtube tutorial set up :/

 

I can't for the life of me figure out how to balance out the game/chat w/ the controller buttons...

 

I'm having the same issue. After hooking my Astro A50s up to the chat adapter and updating the firmware, my headset only has sound when the chat adapter is hooked up. My A50s work fine hooked to a computer, but not to the xbox. I've re-paired and still
no luck. Any solution?

 

Just bought my A50's today realized the problem was I had the optical wire in the opt out instead of opt in as well David R Gilmore. Soon as I plugged it into the correct port The audio automatically sounded better and the cutting off after 5 mins quit.
So for anyone coming in now to fix this problem follow the other setups with the volume as others have posted but make sure your optical cable is plugged into the optical port on your XBone and into the optical in port on your TXD. This should fix your problem.
