    No sound through wireless headset

After getting update rs3_release_xbox_dev_1802.180131-1450 on 2-5-2018 my sound stop working for games and apps. The chat still works fine. The usb transmitter will not work since this update. I have posted once before and spent 6 hrs. on the phone and a
month later still no help. All firmware has been updated on the headset. Headset will work if I use the xbox controller adaptor and wire to headset. This has been reported to xbox by several users. CAN WE GET SOME HELP?

    :)

    No sound through headset?

    Thanks Zappateer for your tips!

Like I said before, I had this problem, and while troubleshooting, somehow both my controllers stopped working too. (When I would turn them on, the light would blink like it's trying to connect, then it would go solid as if it had successfully connected,
but then none of the buttons would actually do anything.)

When I was trying to get my controllers to work again, I tried turning the Xbox off and back on by pressing the button on the front of the Xbox. A friend of mine pointed out that if you press and hold the button for 5 seconds, it really turns it off, if
you just press and let go, it basically just puts it to sleep. The 5 second hold got my controllers working again, I'm hoping it fixed the headset too, although I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

    No sound through headset?

I had the exact same problem. At first I thought the mic was working, but later realized that my friend was hearing me through the Kinect's microphone. I tried switching the headset to my second controller, but then at some point both my controllers stopped
    working too.

    Hi there.

What is the make and model of the specific headset you're using? If you're experiencing

    audio issues in parties
on your Xbox One console, please try those steps to see if they can help out. Also, do you have another headset to test out to see if you're experiencing the same issue?

Sorry I was posting in the preview program side, but to answer your questions. I don't have another headset that uses a usb stick that transmits. I have other wireless headsets that connect to sound out and yes they work fine. The headset is a Turtle Beach
420x. I have no problem with party chat so the usb transmitter is working fine. Here is my original post in the preview side

I was playing Fortnite with some friends Sunday morning 2/5/18 and we experienced our game sound going in and out. The chat works fine. Later that day I got back on to play and I have no sound in any game or app like YouTube. Chat still works fine. I am
using the Turtle Beach 420x wireless headset that uses a USB transmitter. This headset has worked great since purchased in 2016. I seen that I had gotten an update that morning (rs3_release_xbox_dev_1802.180131-1450). I went ahead and trouble shot my headset
to see if I could get it to work again, but since it wasn't just me having the problem that morning I figured it had to be the update. They are not on the preview program and are not having anymore issues with sound. Using my old headset that uses the chat
puck on the controller still works. I don't have any other USB plug in headsets to try and see if it is a USB issue. Is there anyway to rollback the update to see if this is the problem?

  7. Thanks for the update on that. We're afraid there is no way to roll back an update. If you would prefer to opt out of the Insider Preview program, you can remove yourself from the Xbox One Update Preview by following these steps:

    1. Launch the Xbox Insider Hub on your Xbox One console.
    2. On the main landing page, select Insider content.
    3. Under System, select Xbox One Update Preview.
    4. Select Join or Manage.
    5. At the very bottom select Unenroll.

Since you're enrolled in the Insider Preview program, we recommend filing a report for this issue via the Insider Hub app on your Xbox One console and if you have already created a post on the

    Insider Preview Forums
we recommend bumping that with the additional info you have regarding this experience.

You also may want to try reaching out to
    Turtle Beach support
for further clarification with this headset to see if they have any additional steps to try.

  9. Gotcha. What steps did Turtle Beach Support have you try regarding this issue? Also, to clarify, this game sound issue has not been replicated while you're in party chat and it's only happening when you're in Fortnite?
