  1. No sound through Optical from Xbox to A/V reciever

    Hello,

I'm not receiving any sound from my speakers through the optical from my xbox.

The optical lead lights up red and the optical port on the xbox is also red.

The xbox is set to surround sound and optical outputs in settings and has all the latest updates.

The way it's set up is:

HDMI from Xbox One to TV for picture

Optical from Xbox One to Reciever for Sound

The amp doesn't have an HDMI input and the TV doesn't have a Optical port so I'm not sure what else to do.

    :)

  2. Optical Cables

the optical cable is to carry Dolby Surround to a compatible reciever. I personally get mine add-on A/V cables from ebay for a few bucks a piece. The optical cable signal is light, not an electric signal, so you dont need some overpriced cable to make it
    sound great.

  3. Connecting the Console Directly to A/V Receiver?

The Xbox literature recommends connecting the console to the TV using HDMI cable and then the console to the A/V Receiver using an optical digital audio cable in order to get surround sound. Is it possible to simply connect the console directly to the A/V
Receiver with an HDMI cable to get both audio and video through the A/V Reciever? I own a Denon AVR-391.

    THank you

    Hi ivCourtSmith,

Can you let us know if the stereo system is up to date if it is able to receive those? Also, can you let us know the make and model of the system you are working with as well? Let's be sure to check out the

    as well.

    Thank you!

  5. Hi,

I am able to get it working now but I cannot get any speech/voice surround sound 5.1 through my xbox one. I can get speech and voice on stereo uncompressed but not 5.1 uncompressed.

I have the xbox wired differently now also:

HDMI from Xbox One to TV

Coaxial digital audio cable from TV to Reciever.

My reciever is a JVC RX-5022R Audio Visual Reciever.

    Thanks.

    Xbox 360s + Yamaha HTR-6130 | 5.1 Dolby Surround not working

If the optical is plugged into the receiever straight from the 360 then it will output in the option selected on the xbox. What i think might be your issue is you may be on the wrong input on the reciever and the sound output from the tv is what ur actually
hearing which would prob be 2.0 sound. Make sure the reciever is set to the right optical input.

How do I connect my turtle beach PX5 to my TV to get audio into the headphones?

    Have you tried this?

Optical cable from reciever to xbox.

Or if possible optical from TV to Reciever if this isnt possible i think the px5s have analouge inputs, Try that straight into your tv, (rca cable)

The second optical port on the reciever is a pass through input. (like the hdmi in and out on a xbox one)

And here is the manual pal:
