No sound through head set, i bought new controller and headset. everything is up to date...

Id love a response to this. im on 4 controllers (all official microsoft xb1 controllers) and three headsets (two turtle beach and one Microsoft stereo headset ) Console is up to date, a first gen controller up to date. A 2nd gen controller that i bought.
And 2 brand new controllers that came with my one x.... All also with updated firmware. All headset functions work properly on all combos except for mic monitoring . Monitoring is on and set to 10. I can chat and hear game sound but cant hear myself through
mic monitoring unless the mic is shoved down my throat. This is getting very frustrating for my household and friends I play with when i end up yelling. Please. Help.

Please check headset compatibility because other gamers have reported that wired headsets connected through the controller do not work for cloud gaming on Samsung TVs. You need to use a Bluetooth headset instead.

And then pair your headset directly to the TV. If your headset supports Bluetooth, try pairing it directly with the TV by going to Settings > Audio > Bluetooth Speaker List. Put your headset into pairing mode.

Select your headset from the list and follow the prompts.

Next is to restart the TV and Xbox app to refresh the audio settings.

To set your expectations properly, Microphone output is not currently supported for cloud gaming on Samsung TVs. You can hear game and chat audio, but voice chat may not work.

If your TV only shows Digital or TV Speaker, kindly check if there is an option to manually select Bluetooth audio.

Kindly look for updates. Ensure that your Samsung TV firmware and Xbox app are fully updated.

That means that your controller isn't assigned to you. Head to Settings>Devices and assign it to your gamertag. That should put the sound back through the headset.

sounds like its the headset or controller at fault to me, if you can try different head set then controller may need to send the headset back

another thing to try would be to change the voice to headset and tv (then you should hear the chat through the tv) to check the chat is working other than just the headset

So from the looks of everything..... you forgot to update the controller while the head set was plugged in . Brand new controllers need updats to have the correct drivers to work with the headset
