    No sound/Static with my headsets when attached to controller.


    My turtlbeach and hyperx headsets no longer output audio connected to the Xbox adapter or directly to the controller. All I hear is occasionally static. This occurred over the weekend (3/25/2018)

    1. I tried attaching a USB cable to the controller.
    2. Resetting default settings and put on adult privacy profile
    3. Power cycle
    **Also tested both headsets on phone and computer (discord) where both mic and audio output works fine. What am I missing?

    *3.5mm jack on the controller that came with Xbox one X

    Elite controller and static

    I bought an Elite controller and since I using it I have experienced static when using my Turtle Beach XO headset. I contacted Turtle Beach and they were unable to find anything wrong with my headset. When plugging in the headset directly to the Elite
    controller I get no static. When I plug in my XO headset and module into my old controller I don't have static. But if I connect my XO headset and module into my Elite controller I get static. Any suggestions?

    Chat headset (Both stereo and original) mics not working, give out static

    My chat headset mics provide static to those within my party and when i remove the headsets, i receive static through my tv. I cannot hear the static that the party chat members tell me about and they do not hear the static from my tv. Ive tried switching
    controllers with headsets and vice versa, with no success. I have cleaned the ports, updated controllers, power cycled Xbox, plugged and unplugged from controller, changed batteries, bought batteries, recharged batteries, made sure nat is open, cleared mac
    address, to no avail.

    I do know that there are times when i hold the headset cable in a certain manner or when i hold the headset adapter in a certain manner, the static goes away. On both controllers this happens. When I move my hands around with the controller the static comes
    back and the light next to my name showing that the mic is functioning stays on until the static clears out again. then, the mic tends to stop working. when i move the adapter around while attached, the mic give static as feedback to those in the party chat.
    Again, what i am describing happens on BOTH controllers with BOTH headsets. Is my XBOX possessed?

    Please, any help with this is much appreciated.

    XBOX ONE Stereo Headset Static Problem....

    For people who don't get the Controller update go to Settings then system there you will find an update controller option.

    Although I have two Stereo headsets which suffer from static sounds during menus etc or occasional complete loss of sound when playing Titanfall. Both of which sound great when connected to my phone or Mac so i believe there is an issue with the adapters.

    I experiencing the same static junk! Picked up my xo sevens and when I'm in a chat with friends the static that comes through when they talk is terrible! The cheap headset Microsoft gave us with the xbox has better chat audio! Please please fix the static
    issue! Both of my friends that picked up the chat adapter for their x12's are going through the same stuff! I know it's not the headset. Game audio sounds great just the chat sounds bad.

    Xo one stereo headset w/stereo adapter

    I probably should have mentioned (but i hadn't thought top check) that the issue i'm having happens even when I remove the stereo adapter and plug the headset directly into my controller. The audio flickers and gets static and sounds broken.

    Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand you sometimes get no sound out of your headset when connected to controller. We recommend first make sure headset is firmly set in the controller. If it is not completely inserted, it may cause static. Also,
    we recommend to
    update the controller     with the headset plugged in.

    Try these and let us know.

    You might want to consider a stereo audio headset adapter to attach to the base of your controller. I use them and find that they give me more control over my sound settings.
