    I get no sound from my xbox one S. I bought it used so I don't know if the previous owner changed a setting. Is there a setting that would cause this, otherwise the box must be bad?

    Hi gglmn,

    First of check out this Troubleshoot sound on your Xbox One console support page.

    How do you you have your Xbox set up and are you using a 4K tv? If so, as you purchased your Xbox used, did it come with the original HDMI cable? Could be a cable issue.

    Are you connecting via an audio receiver and if so, is there an issue with audio pass through? Could cause sound issues

    As you can see, a little more information about your set up could help us point you in the right direction.

    No sound output

    I could try the 5.1 setting but I didn't use it as I'm only playing through the TV stereo speakers.

    The TV has 4 HDMI and the Xbox works with none of them, but the Sky box and Playstation do work.

    The is a Toshiba 37BV701.

    No sound output

    I've attached the Xbox to the TV with the Red, Yellow and White cable - and I have sound! (But the picture is dreadful compared to HDMI!) So it definitely seems to be a problem with the TV not accepting sound via HDMI from the Xbox, although it does accept
    sound from Sky box and Playstation. Might have to leave a msg for Toshiba too!

    No sound output

    Is the xbox and the TV both Pal?

    If the signal from the console on the HDMI is screwed up over region.

    Usually it is video signal not the audio.

    Try the other sound option and see if it works, also if you have the Composite cables give them a shot see if it accepts any sound from the console.

    I have one more Idea - But I can't find if the optical sound hook up is OUT or IN.
