No Sound out through HDMI when using DVI setting

The latest update has stopped the sound going through the hdmi cable when using the dvi output setting,

This worked before, the reason I and others need this is the cable first goes into a capture card and needs audio before going to my display (DVI)

The other change is when changing display settings from auto detect to hdmi, to dvi etc theres now no longer a box asking if this change was ok? with a count down

this was a failsafe from messing up the display settings, not anymore! I was stuck with a black screen while i used another xbox to help me navigate back to the right setting blind. HELP

XBOX One DVI Output

My TV allows DVI from my Xbox one through the HDMI cable and gets no sound accept through the controller to my headphones, which is cool. DVI info displays 1980x1080 60 Hz rather than HDMI showing 1080p 60 Hz. Is there any difference? A very big difference.
DVI is way clearer and faster and shows textures that are not present using HDMI. As well as textures showing up antialiasing is way better than using HDMI.

Xbox one has no sound on tv or av receiver, Using older TV.. Help??

I have an older sony grand wega tv that only has dvi out put. So I have DVI cable on TV side going to HDMI on the xbox one side. I then have A/V receiver with otpical out put (using optical cable) plugged into xbox. Still no sound. I have changed the settings
for HDMI connection on setup to DVI connection. Any suggestions. Could my Teac A/V receiver not be compatible with xbox one?

Your in luck, Xbox one fully supports HDMI to dvi. in the HDMI setting you can even set it to, auto/HDMI/dvi. Your right about it not doing sound but you can use the optical out to get sound. if you don't have a optical input on your TV since most don't
you could a buy a cheap optical to Rca adapter.

Thank you for contacting Forum support.

Sorry to hear there is an issue with receiving sound from the console.

It's possible that the settings may have been converted or changed when moving from one device to another (changing HDMI/DVI).

Go to settings:

Display and sound
Video Output
Video Fidelity and Overscan
Under the option "Display" set it to HDMI

It may be set to Auto or DVI but if it's already set to HDMI then change it to another setting then go back to HDMI.

DVI doesn't handle audio.

You will need a TV or monitor with an HDMI or DVI input. With DVI you will need a HDMI to DVI adaptor.

If you have a Digital AV Reciever you can also use that as a HDMI pass through with AV out if it supports this function.
