No sound on Game Pass app via Android streaming

Good morning,

I've begun having an issue where I no longer have any audio output while streaming games to my Android phone via the Game Pass app. This only began within the last two weeks, and I believe it coincided with when my phone received the OTA update to Android 12.

I have made sure that my volume levels were all the way up, and nothing is muted. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S10+, and like I previously said, is running Android 12.

On the Game Pass app, I have tried clearing the cache, clearing data, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and ensuring the app has all requested permissions. I even rebooted the phone in between trying each of these solutions. If I open the video browser within the app, videos (such as on YouTube), the sound comes through totally fine. But in games themselves, nothing. I've tried at least six different games, with no difference.

Other things I have tried include, toggling Dolby Atmos settings both off and on with the phone, turning off USB audio playthrough in the developer settings on the phone, closing all other apps on my phone, and switching from my USB-C gamepad to an Xbox controller (via Bluetooth). Still no luck. Is there some other setting I'm missing?

I just verified via the Game Pass app on Android. It does NOT include the Metro series quests via that app, so will not be required to complete Game Pass quest master quest.

Sometimes they add promotional reward quests, and the Rewards dashboard lumps all the quests together, and doesn't seperate the Game Pass specifics. You shouldn't need to purchase that game to complete the Game Pass quests. You can check your progress
with the Game Pass app available on iOS or Android.

So long as its paired correctly through the Xbox Game Streaming App, then yes, the Elite and Elite Series 2 controllers should both work on a mobile device via Bluetooth and wireless pairing on Android.

Xcloud isn't available on PC yet.

The only way to play via a PC/Laptop is via an Android emulator such as Bluestacks.

How to Play Xbox Games on PC With BlueStacks and xCloud

This should work fine on your laptop specs. Remember, Xcloud is a streaming service, all the graphics processing is done server side and sent to your device. That's why it can run on Android phones.

Streaming should work fine on your laptop but it's not powerful enough to run PC Game Pass titles natively. Your machine is probably one of Dell's flagship 'Inspiron' range from about 3 years ago. Fine for basic productivity, awful for gaming.
