No Sound From Xbox One X

Hi all, just got my new xbox one x an plugged it up and there is no sound. My Tv has 4 HDMI inuts and only one of those is 4k, and it says ARC. In any of the other HDMi inputs sound works fine but not in the ARC HDMI input. Is there a setting on my tv or
xbox i need to change? I am not using a receiver and my TV is Panasonic

No sound from Xbox one X

I’m having trouble getting 5.1 out of my Xbox one X.

My set up is Xbox one X connect via hdmi to my LG OLED 55b7 then optical to my Sonos sound bar which is linked to a sub and 2 x Sonos ones.

I have selected bitstream and Dolby output on the Xbox but I just get silence. The only way to get any sound out of the Xbox is to select stereo.

I get 5.1 through the TV on other sources like my Sky Q box so I’m sure the TV settings are correct.

Any ideas would be extremely welcome

I have the same issue with my Sony HDR and 5.1 Vizio sound bar hooked up via the ARC HDMI port. For me it always seems to happen when I’m playing a game in HDR and go to the home screen to check on something else. It’s almost as if switching in and out of
HDR stops the sound completely for me. I’ve tried it on uncompressed and bitstream with multiple games. It’s downright infuriating to pay this much money for something so buggy.

 

Don't know abaout Panasonic but there is problem with Lg and X's Arc sound. There is no sound at all. So just wait for update/fix

 

My sound suddenly disappeared from my xbox one x. I have a LG65C7 ? I can see from other users they are experiencing the exact same thing please fix it with an update. Really important!

 

I can confirm the latest update does not fix the HDMI ARC pass through. Playing battlefront 2 last night, let it go to sleep, return to it this morning and no sound. Sound kicks back when I go to the main menu, but it seems as though it has something to
do with th HDR switch that’s occurring. Only fix is to restart the console. The same will happen if I eject the game and insert another hdr game, I have to restart the console then as well. Please fix this! $500 console shouldn’t have this kind of experience!
