    No sound from cable box after June update


    Hi,

    since the June update I don't have sound from the cable box after turning xbox and all devices on.

    i have picture, but no sound.

    however, when I manually switch cable box off and on again, sound is there.

    anybody else?

    No sound with live TV

    I've tried 2 different setups, from simple cable box > Xbox > TV. Also tried cable box > xbox > sound bar > TV. I get no sound from either. HDMI cables used for both setups. I get sound from the xbox UI and games, but nothing from TV. What am I doing wrong?

    Lastest update killed my sound!

    I have a Halo Reach edition never had problems other then it running warm, but after tonight's update it killed my sound. Tried different things like using other hdmi port on lcd tv, and nada. My sound works with my cable box and wii, so yup no sound.

    No sound from cable box after June update

    I've lost surround sound from the cable box since the update. MS told me to do the 'beta' thing, but the option isn't there at all so their online techs didn't know what to do. I've bypassed it by going optical but it's not my ideal wiring solution.

    I've also had this issue but even before the June update. I get video but no sound when watching TV through the Xbox One with the cable box connected. Only way I could fix it was to turn off and turn back on the cable box.

    What is the beta thing?

    Ok everyone, I was able to fix this yesterday with a support tech from MS. The support pages have not been updated and it looks like the HDMI Surround has moved out of beta and into production. I was able to go into the settings for the TV/One Guide and
    change the audio settings there from "Stereo" to "Surround Sound", an option I don't think was there before. This configures the input of your video, 720, surround sound, etc. If the wrong thing is selected here, the Xbox will not output anything right because
    it doesn't know what it's getting in. As soon as I made the change, and since my output settings were already good, Dolby started right up as soon as my Xbox finished rebooting.

    We can debate how friendly this is to users, but it's how it's working for me and I thought I would post.

    Crackling noises in Dolby digital

    After the second-to-last update, my surround sound (bitstream, Dolby Digital) worked awesome - couldn't be happier. However, this most recent update, that happened last week, completely wrecked my surround sound for my Xfinity cable box. My Sony receiver
    is reading Dolby Digital 5.1, but I'm only getting sound from the front 2 or 3 speakers (I have a 7.1 setup). Hopefully they fix this thing (again)!!!
