Discus and support No sound at all from new 3.5mm controller.. in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; So I got a new set of headphones hoping to attach them to my 3.5mm jack.     No sound at all from new 3.5mm controller..


    So I got a new set of headphones hoping to attach them to my 3.5mm jack. Got them today..no dice. Absolutely no sound from the headphones. OK..maybe they aren't compatible. I tried 4 other headphones and none of them work.

    I tried going to the settings to adjust the volume. When I go to the "devices" tab and go to the controller to click "A" on the volume tab it just backs me out to the "all settings" area. Basically whatever I plug into the 3.5mm jack is not taking at all.
    Absolutely no sound. Can't say if it would've worked before the system update, because again...this is the first time I've tried to connect a headset through the 3.5mm jack on the newer controller.

    Hello All,

    I connected my headphones to the 3.5mm connector in controller, but I still hear the sound coming from TV and no sound from the headphones. Can you please let me know is there something else I need to do to get it working. Thanks!

    I am having a similar issue with the new Master Chief controller for Xbox One. When I use my ear buds (without mic) I get sound through the controller and everything works fine. When I use my new headphones (over ear Bluetooth/aux capable) with the 3.5mm
    cable it detects the headphones but does not play sound. The headphones work on all of my other devices with 3.5mm jack.

    New Controller - 3.5mm Jack Question

    All game sounds and chat functionality work fantastic with the new controller with the 3.5mm jack. I am currently using a pair of stereo Gioteck HC2's plugged into the 3.5mm jack and they work great. Any gaming headset that is wired should also work fine
    through it.

    I know that the microphone is sending sound to the controller and I know it's getting sent to the correct pins on the 3.5mm port...

    Have you tired doing a firmware update on the controller? Sometimes that can help with sound issues from the 3.5mm port.

    The more recent versions of the Xbox One controller have a 3.5mm jack on the bottom. Older Xbox One controllers require an adapter.

    Basically if your controller has a 3.5mm jack on the bottom you are good to go, and if you're buying a new controller I think they all have the 3.5mm jack these days. It's only if you have an early controller you need the adapter.
