    No sound after playing a game


    Every time I or my child play the game Astroneer on my Xbox one, I lose all sound on the Xbox. I can switch over to cable TV and it has sound, my TV menu has sound. But there is no sound for the Xbox menu, nor any other game nor app. This only happens with this one game. If I plug in headphones into my controller I get sound thru the headphones. This does not clear up the issue on the soundbar. I hard restart the Xbox and that doesn't help. If I shut down, the next day the sound comes back. While the sound isn't working, if I go back and restart the game, I get sound for the game. But still no sound anywhere else.

    Sorry for the inconveniences, this is a known issue:

    "Some players have reported intermittent audio issues across the dashboard or when launching games or apps.

    If you encounter this behavior, be sure to report this issue and choose the Report with advanced diagnostics option. Make sure to include information like audio setup, when this issue occurred, troubleshooting steps tried, and other relevant info.

    Workaround: Reboot the console and games should launch normally."

    If rebooting or power cycling your console doesn't help

    (Power cycle)

    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

    2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.

    Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.

    3. Plug the console power cable back in.

    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

    I don't know if this helps or not but after the update my friend also has that weird sound when he tries to play a game. It sounds like a loud "MOOOOO" and then it plays normally.
