    No signal through HDMI cable

A few days ago I removed the HDMI cable for my Xbox 360 S from my home cinema system so that I could plug my Chromecast in. When I had finished I replaced the xbox 360 cable exactly as it was before however my TV has stopped receiving a picture through
    from the xbox 360.

I have tried doing display resets, tried turning everything off at the wall for 10+ minutes. I have tried different cables and different ports. The only way I can seem to get a picture from the xbox 360 is by using a composite cable, although this only
gives me an SD picture and does not allow me to change teh HD display settings on the xbox 360.

Can anyone suggest anything that I have not tried and also explain why it stopped working as I did nothing that I have not done multiple times in the past.

    :)

    No signal through HDMI cable.

I would go with the tele if it's okay on the other one. Possibly hunt the remote down and go into the picture settings and change the resolution on there, i.e 16:9 etc etc, may be the resolution is too small for the tele itself, if there is a size difference
in tele that is. Also daft point, but have you checked to make sure that the tele that doesn't work is fine with any other device cable/sky/dvd/digibox etc etc or possibly trying another hdmi cable from another device? It gets the little things off of the
check list. I would also make sure that it's on the right channel and that theres nothing blocking the port that your trying to connect to, or that the port on the tele is infact okay. Hope this helps. No signal through HDMI cable :)

    Try This:

    1. Go to network settings on your xbox.

    2. disconnect your network on your xbox

    3. click configure network

    4. reset network to default

    5. reboot your console

    6. connect your network again

    Hope these steps help.

Hopefully the HDMI port on your Xbox 360 S isn't broken.

What happens when you jiggle around the HDMI connection to the Xbox? Something tells me that the HDMI port could be worn from repeated connecting/disconnecting. If your TV signal flickers with every jiggle, then the port on the Xbox could indeed be worn
out. I've had a similar issue before in the past.

Your only alternatives for HD signal are to get A/V cords with either Component (red, blue, green) or VGA (with 3.5mm or RCA audio).

I don't think th8s is the issue as the cabke never gets disconnected from the xbox 360 only from the home cinema system. It has probably been removed more in the past week while I try and fix my problem than it has in the last few years.

  6. Definitely sounds like a busted HDMI port on the console. You seem to have done all the other troubleshooting that can possibly be done...

You can send your console in for repair at devicesupport.microsoft.com and they can fix the HDMI port. alternatively, you could use a VGA cable to get HD, though I don't think you can get a full 1080p signal through VGA, only 1080i or 720p if I remember
    correctly.

Cheers for the responses guys. Is an HDMI port really that prone to just suddenly braking with no reason, warning or deterioration though? If they are I would have thought I would have heard about it.

It doesn't have to be prone across all HDMI ports. You may have just been unfortunate and some solder has cracked or something like that. Just because I live in a street that has never had a burglary, doesn't mean I'll never be burgled.

I too have this problem. I have done all the above more than once and still nothing. It keeps saying UNSUPPORTED VIDEO FORMAT or NO VIDEO SIGNAL. sky hd works fine in the port and the xbox works fine on another tv of the same make and model. i have got
no idea whats wrong with it! Any more info/help would be very helpful.

As above yes a brand of tele would be a help, but failing that have you thought about backing everything up and restoring the system back to factory settings?! Under system settings theres an option to run inital settings which might help. But before you
do heres an interesting little read :)
