No signal on the dvi-d monitor

DVI A ("DVI-A are used to carry a DVI signal to an analog display, such as a CRT monitor or budget LCD. The most common use of DVI-A is connecting to a VGA device, since DVI-A and VGA carry the same signal. There is some
quality loss involved in the digital to analog conversion, which is why a digital signal is recommended whenever possible.")

This doesn't seem to work. Something I've got wrong sorry, is it's actually outputting to DVI as I'm going from HDMI to a DVI monitor so it's detecting the DVI connection not the HDMI signal.

I connect it directly to the TV with hdmi.

If I use it with my monitor, i plug in a HDMI to DVI-D converter and DVI-D to my monitor.

I tried it with different hdmi cables, still not working.

Sorry, it's an E Machines E211H monitor and a standard Monster HDMI in to Single Link DVI-D out, and no it is a 1920 x 1080 monitor.

That monitor only has DVI-D and DisplayPort inputs. DVI-D only allows for digital connections. VGA is analog. The two do not work together.



There's also no XBOX DVI cable. Microsoft officially only supports HDMI. From the

manual for the monitor, HDMI to DVI would work as the monitor can accept 1680x1050. It may work with 1920x1080, but that's not a listed resolution in the manual. You'd either need to buy an AV Port to HDMI adapter (somewhat rare, not usually cheap), or
a new console that has HDMI output.
