NO ROOM LEFT ON HARD DRIVE

I need to make room, I searched for the xbox and then made a folder and moved it o DOWNLOADS Because it wouldn't let me delete the files where they were, so I made a folder copied all the files to it then I moved it to downloads to see if I could delete
it there but it wouldn't let me do that . So now I have run out of room on my hard drive, so if someone knows how I could delete the copy I made it be helpful to me. Thank you

Anyone know where to see how much room is left on your hard drive. No one I talk to online knows.

 

Can you use External hard Drives?

Basically i've been buying games via Games on Demand and have no room left on my Hard Drive, I would like to know if it is possible to use a 500GB/1TB External USB Hard drive to store games?



Any help is appreciated.

Could you clarify what you're trying to do a bit more please? Is this something you're trying to do on your PC or are you trying to clear hard drive space on your Xbox console? If it's a console, is this an Xbox 360 or Xbox One? Or are you trying to clear
room from an external hard drive? If it's an external HDD, could you provide the brand and model of that so we can take a look?

Giving us more information will better help us out so we know how to proceed.

Info I have a dual boot 7 and 10 I only gave 10 partition 35 gigs of room, I'm don't have the knowledge to get more room for 10 so I decided to delete apps that I don't use. So I went to programs features but no uninstall, I went to search got all files
for Xbox and tried to delete them, it wouldn't let me, so I copied all files for Xbox to folder in Downloads and tried to delete them from there. It wouldn't let me put them back to original folder it wouldn't let move them back. So I copied them to Documents
and delete but it wouldn't let me . So now I'm stuck with no room left on hard drive at boot it has error saying there's no more room. So I need to delete the copies of Xbox I made.

 

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. The console cannot make use of a partitioned hard drive and this is where you're running into trouble. I'm afraid that, at this point, you'll need to connect your hard drive to your pc and reformat it for use on the
console again. From there you should be able to redownload your content on to it.

I finally gave up i wiped the partition and reinstalled 10, this is a Very long 3-4 days to set it backup with Drv and programs and the restore points wouldnt restore , at this point while i work on Windows I do have an IMAC that i have had for 10 years
funny thing is it sits in storage for years but when i set it up its exactly as i put it away, not sure why its so reliable but happy i have it to fall back on just wish the Schools had a program for it. But Thank you for the info .
