    How to control access to your Xbox LIVE account

    It is possible to restrict access to your Xbox LIVE account by using a pass code, or making it necessary to sign into your Xbox profile using your Microsoft account password.

    Set a pass code

    A pass code is a button sequence on your controller, which you can use to restrict access to your Xbox LIVE profile. After you have set the pass code, anyone who wants to sign into Xbox LIVE using your profile must enter the pass code.

    Steps to follow

    1) Under Settings, select Account

    2) Go to Account Security, and then select Pass Code

    3) Enter your four-button code on your controller. You can use the directional pads, the triggers, the bumpers, X and Y.

    4) Re-enter your pass code for confirmation

    The next time you sign in with your Xbox LIVE gamertag, you will be required to enter the pass code.

    If you want to change or reset your pass code, just repeat the above steps. You will be required to enter the old pass code before you can change it.

    how can i update my microsoft live email address for xbox if i no longer have access to the email that i initially set up? I've done the password reset option but i can not access that email address to reset my password so i could update my email

    Maybe someone Tech-Wise here can help me ._.

    Do you have an access code for your service provider(this is separate from your router security)? If so, you will have to erase the connection on your X-box and reset everything(undo the modem on x-box) then restart your xbox with it plugged back in. Set
    up a new connection and you will get to the option for the service provider code. It's not as easy to check all codes without resetting. You can get intermittent connection when the IP access code is wrong, in fact, that is what you will get.

    account.live.com/.../reset     - Choose "I forgot my password," then "Reset your Password." This should have you enter his MAID (Microsoft Account ID) and the CAPTCHA in the form below it. Then after there, you should have the option to email yourself a reset
    link, and maybe either answer a security question or sending a code. If you cannot access any of these options, then choose the option for "I can't use any of these options" and fill out the account verification form to the best of your ability. The more information

    Change Pass Code

    Getting 80151012 when trying to download profile on 360

    Ok... so the above suggestion worked.

    Resetting the password using specificly the "I can't do any of the above" option fixes the problem, even though I already had access to my account and even though none of the other options for resetting the password (which I had already tried) did.

    So I still stand by the statement that this is one of the worst error messages and one of the worst systems ever. I mean really, one specific way of resetting the password to an account you already have access to is the sollution? I'm a programmer and I
    would not be caught dead as the auther of code like that. But at least the problem is solved. So thanks Maxen13!
