No profile picture or avatar is displayed

From the home tab: profile > edit profile > gamer picture.

If you would prefer an avatar pic: customize avatar > gamer picture.

What is the pic displayed on the forums?

It looks custom to me.

I think your issue might be with your avatar. You need to toggle between the avatar and a regular picture from their offerings on the console and then reset your console with the new picture.

Once it reboots you can then customize your picture.

Sorry to hear about the picture issue! Are you still experiencing this issue? If so, let's start with a power cycle:

• Press and hold the power button on the Xbox One console for 10 seconds, or until the unit is fully powered off.
  
• Unplug the power supply from the back of the Xbox One console and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  
• Plug the power back in and power on.

It was reported that due to the covid19 some services would not have a team to verify the flow of profile pictures, so they put a stop to it until further notice you cant use a custom profile picture.

You can still use avatar editor and use the avatar for the pictures.

I noticed the same thing in Windows 8. My real public/private gamer pics do not my Avatar. Alphajacks and Windows 8 gamerpic (the one listed under Xbox games) do...but it isn't even my avatar. Those apps display an avatar gamerpic I took 2+ years ago. Probably
the only time I ever even click a photo of my avatar. In fact, my avatar doesn't even look the same today so it is rather annoying that my gamerpic doesn't translate to all the systems. Oddly, if I change my profile picture in Windows 8 (the one from the main
screen) it replicates to my phone as my profile pic but not to Xbox or Alphajacks. Seems odd to have a half dozen different profile pictures to contend with on what is supposed to be a 'unified' ecosystem.
