No profile on backwards compatible games, can't download one

When I launch a backwards compatible game, it spends a long time "Getting your xbox 360 info..." After that, I find there are no profiles to sign in to in the emulated 360. When I try to 'download profile', it goes through a lengthy "Checking network status"
screen, after which it says it can't connect to xbox live (no error code) and has a button to test my connection (which happens outside the emulator - and succeeds).

I have tried:

• Setting manual & automatic IP settings
• Clearing MAC settings
• Using google DNS
• Clearing 360 storage (not that there was any - I've never tried BC before)
• Power cycling the xbox and the router
• Plugging directly into the router
• Using wifi
• Updating my billing information (How was that meant to help anyway!?)
• Factory resetting the whole xbox
• Blood sacrifice

I know the emulator has troubles with IPv6 and two-factor authentication. Those aren't the problem either.

This is a problem because you need a profile to save. I'm getting the feeling that the specific
problem is that the emulated console can't connect to the internet even though the real one can. And that prevents the profile I'm already logged into from being recognised because... DRM I guess.

Xbox One can't connect to Xbox Live

So I've had this reoccurring problem with the xbox one backwards compatibility since it was released. I would pop in a backwards compatible game and it would start up no problem, until I have to sign in using the xbox 360 kind of sign in. I go to sign in
and it tells me the xbox can't connect to the internet. I've restarted the xbox one multiple times and nothing happened, i even deleted the profile (the biggest mistake) and now i can't download the profile. Is there a way to fix this or am i just out of luck
and can't play backwards compatible games?

 

When you load up your 360 Backwards compatible game and hit the start and select buttons to bring up the 360 guide instead of going to download profile and choosing that have your tried clicking the X button to sign in and signing in?

Yeah, 'sign in' shows no profiles, only the download button that doesn't work.

 

Are you using the same account that you used to play on Xbox 360?

 

No, the account was never used for 360.

EDIT: I woke up today and launched the game and... it works. I'm mad that of all the things I tried, a good night's sleep is what it took. Well thanks guys!
