No "Play" button in Xbox app for some installed games?

UPDATE JANUARY 31ST: In the Game Pass Beta app, some games say "install to" and some games have the "play" button grayed out. For example, "Among Us" and "Football Manager 2022" are labeled "install to", while "Outer Wilds" and "Skyrim Special Edition" have the "play" button grayed out. The regular Game Pass app says "install to" for everything.

Make sure you are on Windows 10 and then login to the Xbox App using the same Xbox account that your Game Pass is on.

In the Xbox App go to the Store and search for the game that you are trying to play. The purchase button should switch to "Install". then Install and play the game while logged into the Xbox App.

I was able to get some more information. while my account works fine on the site. in a chat i was advised to install the Xbox Beta App and install the game from there.

Within the Xbox Beta app I click on the grey profile icon in the top right corner, and select settings, on Account I click "sign in" button, and get the same login box as within the game. I login there click "lets play" and then I see the sign in button
again.

Logging in fails for some reason. there is no error message.

This is easily fixed by going to the store on your console and searching for the game there and then manually pressing the install button.

If that for some reason doesn’t work try downloading the Xbox app and try installing it from there.

I can install games that dont open the xbox app like candy crush, but some links refer me to the xbox app and even starting downloads from there fails. When it starts preparing/downloading from xbox app, the windows store continues saying "install from xbox app" and doesnt give the stop square button like other apps.
