No picture when connecting Xbox to soundbar for Atmos

I am trying set up my xbox to work with my Samsung 90r soundbar. I have the xbox plugged into the hdmi 1 input of the soundbar. I have the soundbar plugged into the tv via hdmi arc. I have my the soundbar input set to
hdmi 1, and on the tv input i change it to soundbar. Once i do this my screen goes completely black. I thought i may have the hdmi canle from my xbox to soundbar backwards so i swapped it, and then my screen is a flat green color. I am mkt sure what to do.

I am trying to get dolby atmos to work. If i set up the soundbar normally, (connecting xbox to tv, and tv to soundbar) i get audio and video fine (with a lag in audio) i just cannot get atmos to work.

Does anybody know what the issue may be? thank you all

I have too sound/picture cutout problems. I have Sony HT-ZF9 3.1 Dolby Atmos Soundbar. It seems to be only when enabling Atmos on Xbox one S. Super annoying. I have latest Sony zf9 soundbar update. It enabled eartc option but that didnt help for the problem
either! Microsoft fix this and fast!!! When i not using atmos on xbox one s everything works just fine.. so its xbox one problem not soundbar or tv! I have sony tv also.

I have nearly the exact same setup and problem. I can either connect the Xbox One X directly to the soundbar for Atmos but then I can’t get 4K video. If I connect it using ARC I can get 4K picture but not Atmos sound. This is so frustrating

First of all:

While you DO need the Atmos App, you do NOT need to buy it, unless you want to use the Atmos for Headphones feature.

With your Atmos soundbar, you already paid the Dolby Atmos licensing fee, and the free App is sufficient to play Atmos sound via your soundbar.

However:

Getting sound through your TV and the soundbar depends on a lot of factors. Including on how you connect console, TV and soundbar together.

The trouble is, that some TV's don't support Dolby Atmos via their ARC (Audio Return Channel), so if you connect the console to the TV, the TV can't send Atmos sound coming from the HDMI input from the console to the soundbar. So also check if your TV's
ARC is capable to support Dolby Atmos.

Alternatively some soundbars allow you to plug your console into the soundbar, and the soundbar forwards the video to the TV. That way you would probably get Atmos sound, but some Soundbars are unable to forward 4K HDR video to the TV.

So if bad comes to worse, you might have to exchange your TV as well as the soundbar. So please check with Samsung if both your TV and soundbar are REALLY capable of what you expect (i.e. 4K video as well as Atmos pass through).

I don't think thats gonna work because it's about Dolby Atmos on a headset and not on a soundbar, my soundbar is an LG by the way, model number SL8YG, works perfectly in every way except when playing Xbox when it's passing through the TV, Dolby Atmos will
only work on the Xbox when passing directly through the soundbar
