No option to promote account to adult

Hey guys,

Almost 6 years ago I made my live account. At the time, I put in my age as 17. I would have put it as 18 if I knew all the issues having a child account would bring with it. Once I realized the mistake I made, I decided to wait until the account was 18 (obviously)
so I could promote it. Well, the account went to 18 and no option. Then 19. Then 20. Up until the account being currently 22, nearly 23. Over the course of the years I've sent around 20 e-mails and several calls to Xbox Support asking for help, but nothing
every actually came to fruition. At this point I truly cannot believe there is not a fix for this. I go to account management, then to your information, but the option to promote to adult account simply isn't there. My e-mail and Xbox account have the same
DoB, so there shouldn't be any conflict there (which is what one Xbox support staff member told me). I have both an Xbox One along with the 360, but the steps to promote on the Xbox One didn't work for me either. I don't really get what the issue here is.
My Xbox Account and the e-mail attached to it are both the same age. But it just won't give me the option to promote.

Does anyone have any idea what I can possibly do? Thanks for any suggestion you guys may have.

You don't need an adult account to play BF3, you just need to be older than 13 as per EA server policy.

To clarify, you also won't see the "Promote Child Account" option if you have a child account and are younger than 18.

to be sure... you are sure your account is still a child account? Which means that there is a parental account connected?

 

Yeah, it's still a child account. There is a parental account attached to it. Almost everything I was able to move over to my current account, so I control almost everything. But there are still disadvantages to having a child account, of course. But yes,
it's still a child account.

 

And when you try to promote the account you go into

Setting>account> and then it should be in there.

If it is not call support because then they can escalate the account to make sure what's going on with the account. If anything it could already have been promoted.

 

Yeah, it's weird, it's just not there. I guess the only realistic option I have is to call them. However, I've been told they can't promote your account yourself (not from them, other people). Do you know if this is true or not? And would it be possible
for my account to auto-promote? I doubt it, but I don't know for sure.

 

Not sure if they can or can't do it, but they should at least able to check why you can't promote your account and depending on that result can take some actions which could lead to a solution.

So contacting Xbox Support is for now the best option in the path to find a possible solution
