No option to automatically turn on/off TV?

I've gone through the setup process to have my Xbox One identify my TV and it works as far as adjusting the volume, muting, menu, etc. However it doesn't know how to turn on/off my TV. (It works great with my audio reciever)

Does anyone know what method the Xbox One uses to turn on/off our TVs? Does it use an IR blast like it does for volume up/down commands or does it send it through HDMI-CEC?

My TV doesn't support HDMI-CEC so I suspect that is the method. I have the Changhong 50inch that the Xbox One was bundled with very popularly so I'm surprised it doesn't work with it.

If any of you out there have this TV and have the power on/off working, how? I've tried a few different remote codes and I haven't gotten any of them to work.

    Thanks!

    :)

  3. Download Games from PC to Hard Drive?

Absolutely! It appears you don't haven't adjusted the "Turn Off After..." setting.

    To do this:

    1) Double tap your Home button to bring up the Guide.

    2) Scroll down to Settings. Select All Settings.

    3) Select Power. Under Turn off or restart, you will see "Turn Off After" - This allows you to set your console to turn off automatically when not being used. Your options are 1 hour of inactivity, 6 hours of inactivity or Don't turn off automatically. Select
the "Don't turn off automatically" and that will keep your console on even when you are inactive for extended periods of time.

No option to automatically turn on/off TV?

It works via IR blasting. There are settings for it, you should be able to alter these independently for TV and audio receiver. It may be that the setting for TV is currently at 'do nothing' when turning on/off the console, but it needs to be on Toggle.
You would find this within the Settings on the console.

Thanks for the response. I should have clarified, there is no option other than 'Do Nothing' in my Settings for the TV.

Then it sounds like you need to run the TV & OneGuide setup and make sure that the Xbox One has identified the TV make and model. And if that fails, you need to input the remote code yourself (which I presume can be found in the TV's documentation, possibly
    available online).

I told the Xbox my Changhong was a Toshiba, it actually no works better than my old Samsung. Samsung would do Volume up/down/Mute and On/Off. My Changhong will do that plus TV menu/Display the settings.. Works great on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 for a $399
    50" TV.....
