No notifications from friends when they appear offline

I don't receive party invites or game invites from friends when they appear offline. They all can receive invites from each other but for some reason I can't. My other friend who is not set to appear offline doesn't have this problem. I have
done a hard reset/clear cache and removed profile from my Xbox. My Nat is open and have was working fine before. Any reason why this is happening?

online friends not showing up

Same issue. Notification when i log in says I have friends online...which they are, but the appear offline in mt friends list and in games. I can only join a game when they invite me because according to my xbox they are offline! I have checked all my settings,
everything is right....as there are a few of us that this has happened to around about the same time, i'm guessing it's a MS issue??

Privacy status keeps changing

Recently in the last couple weeks some of my friends have been getting slightly annoyed with an issue pertaining to my profile constantly appearing online and offline and constantly getting notifications for it. When I go onto my profile it will have the
option to appear offline but on the left it might say that I'm offline already without having ever changed it. Then it'll just appear online again for no reason at all. I still have some friends who basically since day one don't get any notifications about
anybody except for party and game invites. Also, just a couple days ago I stopped getting message notifications and then sometimes get them after I've read the message. Can anybody tell me what is happening? Its a tad bit irritating

Do you see the same issue when you try to send or receive messages? Are you currently an Xbox Live Gold subscriber? You can check the status by going to
commerce.microsoft.com and clicking on subscriptions.

You could go and check your pop up notifications, maybe they have turned something on? To change your notification settings, press the Xbox button  to
open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Preferences > Notifications.
You can choose what to do with individual Xbox and app notifications (or turn all notifications off), adjust the duration of pop-up notifications, and more.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand you are asking about notifications. To get there go to settings>preferences>notifications>Xbox notifications. This will allow you to see when friends come on. However, if they do not allow it, like appearing
offline or what not, you will not see them log on.

Does your friend appear offline? The appear offline feature will still increase in day count if they play while appearing offline. If he is not appearing offline, sometimes (very seldom) will the friends list show people with a wrong status, but when
it does it usually updates within a few hours when this issue occurs.
