    We both know that's a load of crap. If there's even a rumor of MS doing something bad people fall all over themselves to trash talk it.

    I'm just as big a 360 fanboy as the best of em', but this is the type of business ethic that pushes me farther and farther away from MS and its services.

    I guess I'm just happy I bought a PS3..

    Sorry you're upset. However, a gold membership is required to play multiplayer games and is required for most major gaming systems.. Keep your eyes out for sales and deals so you can get back to playing.

    If you go to "My Account" up top, you can change your setting and turn Auto-Renewal off.

    As far as I know, you need to have some kind of billing information on file in order to make the purchase, even if that's a $0.00 purchase. It's a billing system technicality. Don't worry, credit cards and PayPal accounts don't get set up for auto-renewal
    of anything if you don't use it to purchase Gold, Music, or any other membership. So once you've made your $0.00 purchase for the free Games With Gold promotion, you can immediately remove your payment option.

    I don't ever see microsoft allowing players to use xbox live without paying for it, You can join the microsoft rewards program and earn a xbox live gold membership by doing various tasks, It's quite easy to do.
