    No more free games with xbox live gold membership


    I have an auto-renew gold live membership and it is being renewed every three months with no issues.

    For the last 1 month or more, I have not been able to get free games anymore. When I go to the page for free games, I get an "offer" to pay one dollar for a limited time (which will probably go up after) to get games.

    If I ignore this (because I SHOULD BE GETTING THE GAMES FOR FREE), it wans to charge my credit card for the download.

    Did I miss a memo or something? Getting pretty mad, since there doesn't seem to be a problem with my money being taken, but there's a problem with giving me the free games, I am supposed to get??

    If you have a current Xbox live Gold membership, and the game you're trying to download is gold free, then it is free as long as you have gold membership. I have a few games that I got for free using my gold membership.

    Yes, you certainly can. The bottom of a 2 Day Gold Pass states the following:

    XBOX LIVE 2-Day gold Membership, free trial allows access to these Gold features: online multiplayer gaming, Netflix, ESPN on XBOX Live, Facebook, free game demos, exclusive discounts, promotions and video content.

    Free 2-day trial offer is only for use on the XBOX 360 and is not valid for current XBOX Live Gold Members. At the end of your 2-day trial period, your membership will default to the FREE XBOX Live Membership, unless you elect to extend your XBOX Live Gold
    Membership.

    Now what this doesn't tell you is that you cannot play in ranked matches with the trial membership, but you are free to play in social matchmaking playlists for games.

    Great that you found it.

    You are able to do certain things on Xbox LIVE with a free membership. But if you want to play online multiplayer games and much more, then you need a Gold membership.
