No midnight launch at my gamestop!

I wanted to know if anyone else is not having a launch party at their local gamestop

Midnight Release

I'll be at my local Gamestop as well. This will be my first time at a midnight launch. Definitely looking forward to this one!

 

Why does everyone act like they HAVE to preorder the Xbox One from GameStop?!?!

I think part of was the fun of being at a Midnight Launch. But after excuses from GameStop (about Pre-orders) and the idea of standing in the cold, the idea grew very thin, very quickly.

Then a light switch went on, ding, buy it from my Xbox 360. No middleman, no hassle, no waiting in the cold and I can trade the nerd talk at a GameStop Midnight Launch for the comfort of the UPS guy (or girl) showing up while I'm simply at home on vacation.

 

If they are not doing one it is because they did not get enough pre orders to merit having one. 50 pre orders is the minimum I think.

 

Call any other stores in a radius your willing to travel. They will be able to switch your pre order over when you go to the store. Just go before the initial closing of the day. Or you will then be out of luck.

I just did this for thief and it was to a store in a different county.

 

I just went to Gamestop earlier today to pick up a Xbox One stereo headset. As I was buying it, the guy says to me "I see you got Titanfall paid off, you gonna be here for the midnight launch?"

 

The Gamestop I work at is having one. We're expecting anywhere between 200 - 300 people to show up. It's going to be a long night. =)

 

I would imagine that it comes down to the store and their circumstances. Not being from the US I don't really know how they work but I live in a fairly small town in the UK and we never get midnight releases anymore. We had one for MW2 but a lot of local
stores have gone out of business since then and the last remaining isn't willing to do them.

However, the nearest city has 3 GAME stores and they all have midnight launches for numerous games all the time, at all 3 stores. Presumably because there is a larger market in the bigger city so the money adds up to make it possible.

 

I haven't checked my local store yet but I will check today. I can't stay up much after midnight because I get up too early in the morning and I'm old Lol.

 

The trick is to play until you have to wake up, then just don't sleep

 

Best Buy is doing a midnight launch near me...

 

I'm not gonna miss midnight releases considering you still have to wait an hour to get an install done anyways.

 

the general rule of thumb is Strip stores have to have at least 100 preorders and Malls have to have 125 or more being that they have to pay to keep the mall open etc etc. I used to be at a strip store where we got midnights without breaking a sweat however
the mall I'm at now it's very difficult to get those events other than COD Battlefield Etc. Either way, your copy will be there for two days. Plus there's a giant poster you get if you reserved it (its like 4 foot by 2 foot).

bestbuy's website actually has a link to all stores that will be having midnight releases. You click on the titanfall iten and then at the bottom I think the locator is on the "other deals" section.
