No Microphones Work With My XBOX One

Hello,

As the subject states, I cannot get any microphones to work on my XBOX One.

I bought a brand new PDP LVL50 wired headset. I can hear audio and other players, but the mic doesn't work on it. I tested the headset on both my PS4 and my PC and it works perfectly on both of them.

Thinking maybe somehow that specific headset has a compatibility issue, I went out and just bought a new Turtle Beach Recon 50X. Same deal. Mic does not work on the XBOX, but it works on the PS4 and PC.

My console is up to date, as is the controller I'm using (input is via 3.5mm jack). I've been through all of the sound settings on the console. Microphone is enabled; output is set to headphones. etc. I can hear everything...games, other players online. I have power cycled the console multiple times, and a NAT test shows "open".

Worth mentioning - If I turn off the controller, and then turn it back on, for a split second it shows my name in the bottom-right corner of the screen as going out via the mic, but then it stops and never shows again unless I repeat the power cycle process.

To summarize:

- Two brand new headsets have no microphone functionality on my XBOX One, but both work on a PS4 and PC

- Console and controller are both up-to-date

- Headphones work perfectly, I can hear games and online players when they speak. They cannot hear me.

- I performed a full reboot multiple times, and double-checked to make sure there were no additional updates for the console and controller

- NAT test shows 'open'

We just purchased a HyperX Cloud Stinger Core headset for our XBox One, and the microphone will NOT work in the game Fortnite. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so, what was the fix? It is only happening in Fortnite. The microphone
works fine when plugged into my phone or in XBox Party mode. The sound works in Fortnite, but not the microphone.

Hello,

Not any Microphone will work with the XBOX 360 via USB. You need to have one that actually works with the XBOX 360 system and doesn't require any sort of drivers to be installed.

I have used the MadKatz Rockband 3 USB Microphone (It works with both the XBOX 360 and the PS3), I also have a Lips microphone which works as well. But as I said, not all wireless microphones will work so your better off getting one that's proven to work. Just
search online in some retailers to see if it works with Rock Band 3 on the XBOX 360.

You may need an adapter if you’re using a PS4 headset. There are two different arrangements of the order of the poles on the plug. You should contact PDP to verify

Thanks for the reply! Both headsets are 'confirmed' to work with the XBOX One. Both of them show "Designed for XBOX" all over the packaging. I'm starting to think there might be an issue with my controller, or less likely, the console. Just need a way to confirm that 100%
