    No microphone on either original headset and my Pro Sevens


    I am having issues with my microphone and not sure what the cause.

    Just recently I have picked up my controller again after a few months of not playing, plugged in my adaptor, followed by my Pro Sevens and noticed that the microphone isn't working, nor does the adopter as I pressed all the buttons and got nothing back.
    I then tried the original headset and have the same result. Nothing from the mic, no life in the buttons.

    I've done a hard reset, I've updated the controller, I'm unplugged everything and plugged it all back in, (even though this never works with anything when it comes to problems with electronics) but still have the same problem.

    The controller works fine, so am wondering if the port side has gone and I need to replace the whole unit, or there is a simple software issue that'll fix this problem. Obviously I don't want to go out and buy a new controller if I don't need to, so any
    help on this would be appreciated before getting in the car and driving to my local Game store.

    Microphones on both of my headsets not working since this week's update

    Same problem here. Neither my Pro Sevens or my original Xbox one headsets work. Was going to buy a new controller until I spotted this post.

    Best headset to use with astro 2015 mixamp

    So since i had my pc Razer Kraken Pro headset i decided to buy just the Astro Mixamp to get 7.1 surround sound on xbox one for Advanced Warfare(competetive) and it works great although as i discovered there is no way to get the pc Razer Kraken microphone
    to work on xbox one. So now i need a new headset to use with my Astro Mixamp. I would like the Turtle Beach XO Seven but since its "wireless" it is not compatible with the Mixamp. What headset could you recommend? The A40 headset is just not worth the cost
    in my opinion.

    Add "mute" to the Elite Controller button mapping

    Def needs a mute button. I have Ear Force Seven Stealths, and they relied on a mute button on the adapter. Due to the original controller design, most of the pro headsets actually don't have a mute inline, favoring the button that's on the controller.

    If you are looking to chat with the Beats Pro headset, then i would have to say that it wouldn't work. The only way to chat is with xbox supported microphone headsets such as the ones they sell, or turtlebeach/astro/etc. I also wouldn't see it working for
    just sound either unless it has a special blutooth capability.

    I had a similar problem with the microphone that came with my xbox one. I would rarely get my microphone to work. I bought a new headset and this fixed the problem. If your using the original headset there is a chance it has gone bad. If you can borrow
    a headset from someone and try it that might help troubleshoot your problem.

    Another issue I'm running into with the headset adapter + windows 10 streaming:

    I docked my surface pro 2 into the docking station, which has a wired PC microphone plugged in. When I start playing (Rainbow Six Siege), the game audio is coming through my headset adapter (via the Xbos Stereo Headset), but the Windows 10 Xbox app is utilizing
    my wired PC microphone instead of the Stereo Headset/Headset Adapter. I can't figure out a way to force the streaming app to use the microphone plugged into my controller...

    (not sure if I should document this issue in another thread)

    It seems there may be some minor issues between the Windows 10 Xbox streaming application when used with the Xbox Headset Adapter.
