No mention of VR for xbox one x. Bad move

Cant believe there was no mention of VR at E3. This move will cost sales. I was ready to pull the trigger on the new xbox based on the occulus rumors but now I will be waiting to see what PS5 will announce. Way to drop the ball.

Xbox avoiding Vr in E3

Xbox did not even mention VR at the E3 2018 briefing. The only reason I bought the Xbox one x was for the VR possibilities. Way to lose the race Xbox. PlayStation gains another fan.

 

I'm not sure it will actually cost many sales when you look at the number of VR headsets a rival has sold it is relatively low (Under 2%) compared to the total number of consoles sold.

VR is not ready yet, maybe another 5-50 years from now.

 

VR isn't selling well for a number of reasons. Personally, I have never used one but from what little I hear, VR isn't for gamers who are afraid of heights, cramped spaces etc as prolonged or even short term VR use can emulate said fears.

If that's true, then I can't use VR for gaming as even with playing regular games while.setting some 12ft away from the TV, games like uncharted 4, or tombraider I get a fear of falling off a ledge. Yet those 2 games are my fav of this gen.

 

Why is it such a bad thing, VT is over hyped.

Just look at the Sony E3 conference, there was VR games, but not a huge amount.

VR is going the same way as the other recent gimmick (3D) its dying a slow death.

I'm GLAD VR wasn't mentioned. If there's any truth to what's being said here (not that much interest) then I don't want bothered with their wasting of time/resources on something not many (myself definitely included) care about. In fact, when I get my XB1X,
I'll buy with more confidence that it'll be better suited for my tastes without that gimmicky waste of resources. Won't cost a sale to me.

 

Well some may consider it a gimmick and let's face it, this console has gone through it's gimmick faze to allot of consumers.

 

If you want VR, GO OUTSIDE! Microsoft bashed PS4 Pro's specs, showing of Xbox One X's more powerful system. Where is PS5, huh?..... It's just thin air, as Sony hasn't officially announced specs pricing or even a release date.

 

VR is a risky purchase, I think. There will be new versions before you know it.

And like PS4 Pro almost, not many bother to support it to potential anyway.

 

Smiles, it's all about the games like every other Gen. I doubt Sony will offer anything new for a while and with it's current library it makes little difference. This topic is about VR, some like it and it seems like that some isn't the majority. I think
MS is wise to keep it as a project but not lose sleep over it.

 

The thing that a lot of people don't get with VR is that the biggest selling genres of games (shooters and RPGS) simply don't work "of the bat" with VR.

Look at Bethesdas VR versions of Fallout 4 and Skyrim, instead of being able to walk around freely (like you think you would be able to) you have to point to where you want to move to and "warp" there.

I know the reason and its all down to motion sickness (same thing some people get in cars) your brain thinks your moving, but you aren't, therefore you feel sick. The only way round this is to have you warp instead of walking anywhere.

I'm sure developers work out what works in VR and what doesn't we may see some great VR games getting released, but until that happens people are going to feel ripped off, £350 for a PSVR headset and no good games to play on it.
