No longer receiving Xbox One Minecraft Discount

I am no longer receiving Xbox One Minecraft Discount however if I've had to before, i have seen the discount price but never had enough money to buy it, went to buy it today but now it's pack to full price.

I owned a digital copy of Minecraft when i had a Xbox 360 so i should qualify for the discount.

Due to upgrading to a Xbox One i no longer own a Xbox 360 and can not re download Minecraft to see if it fixes the problem.

And, yes. I am on the account and originally payed for and played on the Minecraft Xbox 360 version.

I had literally just gone and added credit to my Microsoft account in order to buy it, but now it's at full price again i can not afford it.

Is there a way to get the discount back or are they no longer offering it?

I won't pay full price for it seeing as i have brought it once before.

Minecraft Migration Discount (360 to One)

Hey, I purchased Minecraft on the Xbox 360 around 7 months ago, and I would like to purchase it on Xbox One now, but unfortunately the discount is no longer available. I am willing to purchase Minecraft again, although I would only be able to do so with
the discount that was offered since I recently bought the digital version of minecraft on xbox 360. I appreciate the assistance.

There have been a lot of reports about the discounted price no longer showing up, I'm am unsure as to why that is but it may be because the offer has expired. For now, read through this article:

After 4JStudios returns from their holiday break they will most likely post an update on this issue if the offer has indeed expired.

 

I checked through my purchase history and it does not show the Minecraft game for some reason, i assume it may be because i add Microsoft credit to my account and use that to purchase items.

However in my purchase history there is several Minecraft texture packages, so these should prove i have once owned the game, only a fool would buy texture packages for a game they did not own.

I also have 40% of Achievements for the game so i obviously played for a period of time.

I know i played the game online because when i was not connected to the internet my worlds did not appear.

When i go to purchase the Xbox 360 version here on this site, it says it has already been purchased and has been added to my download queue.

 

This problem is happening to me too, I went to purchase it about 20 minutes ago but for some reason the price has gone up im trying to find out what has happened

 

I've been trying to get a definitive answer myself even when I met all requirements stated in the FAQ and on the web page. My discussion with Microsoft support was that after updating I need to PLAY the game for 72 hours before it would register for the
discount not just waiting 48-72 hours since you launched the game and updated. I've got my 360 running now and will continue for 72 hours straight on the Minecraft main menu so that "Minecraft is playing" on my profile. Here's a segment of that chat from yesterday:

"Jibriel: Alright, [Me] upon further investigating the issue with Minecraft , you have to play it online for a minimum of 72 hours, so our server can detect your account.

Me: Per the FAQ it said to connect so that it showed it on Live then wait 48-72 hours. I know it has been longer than a week though.

Jibriel: Upon further investigating my previous customer that have similar issue, it is proven and effective that you must play it online for more than 72 hours on your 360 console just to register your profile to our system."

After 72 hours I will let you know my results but I'm just passing along the solution that was provided to me. If you can let us know you results from this solution I'm sure we'd all greatly appreciate it.

I know i played Minecraft Xbox 360 version for more than 72 hours online however that would of been last year, i do not own a Xbox 360 no more and i don't have access to one.

When i first got my Xbox one, a few weeks after that i looked at Minecraft and it had the discount price on it, however now it doesn't.

I have had it before but for some reason now it is gone.

By the wording of your reply it sounds like unless i update Minecraft Xbox 360 version and play it for another 72 hours the discount won't come back.

I haven't updated Minecraft Xbox 360 version in over a year since i no longer own a Xbox 360, i know though when i had it i originally played it for way more than 72 hours and i was always online

I don't have access to an Xbox 360 so i can't play Minecraft anymore, so i can't EVER redownload it and update it.

The impression that I got from support, was that after you update (the update that had the price linking), you would have to play for 72 hours afterward. I've still got mine running at the moment but been checking the price and still nothing within 24 hours.
In your case you may want to get in touch with Microsoft Support to see what your options are since you don't have the 360 any longer.

 

I contacted customer support and they were very helpful and tried their best to resolve the issue however the could not.

I still don't receive the discount and was asked to contact Mojang to try and resolve it.

However the only customer experience i have with Mojang is kinda negative so i will not.

Instead my very kind sister brought the game for me, yay for big sisters. o/

I believe my problem lied with the fact i hadn't played the 360 version in over a year and could not play it currently. I also waited to long after seeing the discounted price to try and buy the game so it is partly by fault.

Not sure why they directed you to contact Mahjong when it's a game on the Microsoft Store and a promotional price listed on the Xbox website. As I mentioned earlier, when I have 72 recent hours on, I'll post back my results.

 

I can confirm that I am now showing the $4.99 price tag after around 48 hours of being online at the Minecraft main menu while connected to Xbox Live.

 

It's cool, i spent a good time with Microsoft trying to sort it out but there was nothing they could do and i was told to contact Mojang, i am not sure why they could not solve it.
