No longer able to use Dev Mode (beta)

    No longer able to use Dev Mode (beta)


    Not sure if there was an update that triggered this recently because I haven't used it in at least a month, but when I tried to switch to dev mode earlier it now prompts me with the "activate console" process. It now says "we need to update your Xbox" but nothing happens when you close the window.. No update runs.

    I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Dev mode and no change. I'm currently on beta insider.

    Sorry to hear it. However, as the console is in dev mode we would not be able to help. If you're in the dev program I would recommend hitting up their forums for more assistance

    No not the insider Programm i think I use the officail dev mode app to switch my xbox to dev mode from retail

    Are you part of the Insider program? Is that what you are referring to? I'm part of it as well but haven't had such issues. But I would recommend leaving (or changing your enrollment status at least) in order to make use of the Gold subscription.

    There is such a function in Dev mode.

    It is possible to use a virtual machine in Dev Mode.

    Yes, there is a fee involved to get a developer account. You must have that to be able to use the Dev Mode of the Xbox One.
