No longer able to Remotely power on the Xbox One

I used to be able to power on the Xbox One via the smartglass app on windows 10 PC or Android devices.

It used to work fine.

I have everything the same such as manual IP open ports etc

I can only assume it happened after the last major update.

It used to work when I was on the initial Windows 10 Preview version.

If I power on the Xbox One manually I can then stream to PC without issue, its just the remotely powering on which has stopped working.

Any ideas welcome.

Remote power on via Windows 10 streaming not working

I am able to stream my Xbox via VPN perfectly, but when I try to power it on I get an error that it cannot be powered on remotely and to check that "Instant On" mode is enabled (and yes, it is in Instant On mode). Any ideas what I can do to fix this?

Remote power on used to work, so I have no idea why this is happening now...perhaps it has something to do with the NXOE?

MY console is being controlled by someone else

No one else would be able to remotely control or “hack into” your Xbox. It it’s most likely your buttons sticking try wiping them with a slightly damp cloth, also check that your xbox’s faceplate is on correctly.

I can turn it on using the android app as well as the windows 10 app. Are all the game sharing/ streaming setting set properly on your console? also make sure all your apps are up to date. But I do think its your console settings.

Have you tried resetting your router and also doing a hard reset of your xbox?

Mines the same. Followed the Microsoft trouble shooter still doesn't work. I dont fancy doing a hard reset on my console to just have re install all my games again.

I'll just do it the old fashioned way for now.

Agree with Fuzz, while its cool to have an IR blaster feature, some of us have to many configurations for the XBox One to be included on all and would like to use our Logitech remotes as well. For instance, with the last update the XBox One no longer responds
to the Logitech Power Off command which is a pain. Please have separate Power On and Power Off IR commands to the Xbox One itself.

If he no longer has access to his consoles then he can't remotely remove them from his account. Here is the quote from Xbox Support website,

If you no longer have access to the Xbox One console where you saved your Microsoft account, you won't be able to remove the account remotely. However, you can change your password, which will disable
