  1. No IP address vs Double NATs on cellular hotspots

Hello. It seems like I random single person at a random single company can't help me because there are a whole bunch of things in play that only everyone knows some things about and the things they don't know about are not common enough for tgem to address it.

Let's just say up to about a year ago I lived in a household which has as maximum bandwidth available Frontier DSL with 1.6 Mbps in and 400 kbps out. You probably haven't heard the metric prefix k used in internet in a long time. It's a reality for me up to a year ago.

Listen a year ago I found a very interesting company called visible Wireless who has Xbox compatible internet at speeds that are capped at 5 Mbps in 5 Mbps out, but has unlimited quantity and they only slow down the network when the natural traffic patterns indocate slow traffic. Every other cellular company as soon as you get beyond a certain quantity either cuts you off, forces you to feed the meter or drops you down to 2G, which is a euphemism for mobile dial up.

Unfortunately with their speed cap on hotspot there were a few other problems I inherited all of which combined to be a big headache.

The first stumbling block is a fact that I'm limited to one device at a time. There is a way around it if I use that one device to be a router and split that into many different places albeit the whole group is sharing the same pool of 5 Mbps in 5 Mbps out. that was something to discourage home use of cellular phones as primary home internet.

Now here's another interesting thing about routers cell phone hotspots do not have internal IP addresses, therefore it is difficult to split them because most routers do not have incoming hotspot reading nor do nor does the phone have an infinite cable to connect things to.

The only router I heard of that deals with cellular hotspots correctly are made by a company called Vonets. unfortunately that was not the chief feature and just happened to be a side effect of what they were doing. They don't have any phone call or live chat you have to email them and they have no knowledge of hooking it up to game consoles.

I'll tell you my goal and see if it can be achieved based on what equipment I have. I would like to know what other things I need and which things to use cuz I got a whole bunch of permutations accommodations of stuff to try and knowing math is going to take a long time to try every single possibility until one is right.

The goal is I want all of these things to be accessible to the cell phone internet without having to do a whole bunch of bureaucratic stuff to get the phone reset every time I want to hook up to a new device.

The things are an Xbox One S a Nintendo switch, an Xbox 360 S, maybe I'll hook my Wii U if there are still online games and a shop and it doesn't take that much more work to hook it up, as well as a computer upstairs and downstairs. The upstairs is a Mac Mini from 2011 running OS 10.13. the downstairs is an iMac from 2007 running OS 10.11.

the reason why I want to have constant connection to the internet is because with that slow the speed if I want to play a game and there's like a gigabit download to update a game I don't want to be sitting waiting on stream to play to download when it could have just as easily been done overnight while I was sleeping. Also before with sharing with the family and I was the last one on the totem pole so I'm going to use this for all it's worth. They still have their DSL and as far as I'm concerned they can have it.

I know how to hook up my vonnets to my cellular hotspot. The question is what settings should I set my cellular hotspot at and which of the following extra equipment should I use to do wired splitting if anything it already get the most items connected to my network at the fastest speeds without any double Nat errors I get when I work one time or unable to find IP errors doing a different way.

the tricky thing is that the hot spots does not have a native hotspot IP address therefore true routers have a tough time hooking up to it.

luckily I got three choices of physical wired routers I could use and I got a wire ethernet port on my vonets device.

One device I have is a router from Netgear. It could do wireless bg&n 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz. I don't know the way it could hook up to my IP less hotspot.

Another device I have is a D-Link automatic switch. It does not generate its own IP address but has five ethernet ports and is powered by electricity. The final thing I have is a push button selector which lets you choose between three inputs and one output for ethernet and is unpowered has push button springs that lock and only let you open One path at a time

Also I noticed something weird about my ethernet cables since the vonett's device has an Ethernet male end, the pin could easily break and when the pin breaks that ruins the whole router. I thought attaching a double female keystone as well as another double male cable would complete the connection but for some strange reason it does not. The only way it works is with a straight through connection and once I get this done right I don't want to have to touch it until the next upgrade of the internet when we actually sing the Willie D song which describes my feelings about slow internet "mother**** the 56k " (not really but I appropriated that song for that purpose as a joke to my friend )

Lots of companies I called and they all have a part of the answer but none of them are familiar with the parts they're not familiar with and don't know how to deal with these weird exceptions that happened in my circumstance.

This is a pain in the neck to reset this vonets router, I have a couple questions about the settings.

Should I have IP layer transmission or MAC layer transmission

Should DHCP be disabled like the menu says it should be recommended or should I enable DHCP.

also I got settings about the ethernet cable I don't know what to set it at so I need all the help I can get on this one and unfortunately the one person has all the answers.

please have someone at Microsoft who knows enough of the answers to these questions who can put all the puzzle pieces together and help me figure out what the answer is. Have someone look up contact information Xbox and have them call me back any reasonable time during the New York day from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m..

    :)

No IP address vs Double NATs on cellular hotspots

Maybe I should make my question shorter:

I'm in a situation where the only Xbox legal connection is a cellular hotspot that is faster than the fastest land connection on my street, which is DSL, which is 1.6 mbps in, 400 kbps out.

My situation is unusual because cellular hotspots don't have their own unique IP and use some other method of connecting with their device.

Traditional routers will not work because there's no IP address to focus on.

plus nothing is perfect visible limit you to one device hooked up at a time mainly because of deals with Verizon and the federal government. But they do like my suggestions and think that might be a way to actually help people like me actually get online.

Well no those dont meet the minimun requirementa

1 dsl or cable has to be at least 1mbs if you gettint ip errors ita because you arent connwcting its best to use a real keyboard and show password when entering a passcode

Also lte hotspots arent broadband they may promise 5mbps its really not

You gotta remember cellphone signals arent MEANT FOR continuous high demand service like online gaming

The speeds will always flucuate which is why nat issues happen because thwre isnt enough speed

They are meant for quick.browsing and youtube video not high bandwidth items like gamjng
    1. Get a real keyboard and reveal my password?!?!! What are you? some sort of identity thief? :(

    2. Which sounds more like ideal gaming conditions? 5 megabits in 5 megabits out unlimited quantity, or 1.6 Mb in 400 Kb out unlimited quantity?

The second one is DSL. I'm asking a very specific question what if your best Internet available is a cellular connection that is 5 megabits in 5 megabits out which is theoretically enough to play a lot of games on Xbox Live (though not every game) that just happens to be cellular internet?

most people have good internet which outstripped that situation where DSL is at least 15 Mbps and that's considered a budget connection

The main reason why cellular doesn't work is because the government requires the cell phone companies to place restrictions on home use. It's not that it's incapable, it's that it's being regulated to not be.

Visible Wireless is probably the best company in my situation because despite this flaw I have it's still better than the local DSL.

And unike Frontier's executive in charge of FCC relations who I say talks to me like she's a bond villain, Visible actually likes my loophole of being stationary and in an internet Red zone in order to raise the ceiling to something better than 5 Mbps in 5 Mbps out.

Unfortunately they can't unilaterally do it because they got to talk to both Verizon and the federal government about doing that.

Can't get my NAT strict to open

That modem is a 4G hotspot device ? If so , the NAT is probably coming from the isp 4g setup ...private ip address or public ?

My Xbox Series S says that it has a strict, double NAT type and I'm not sure what to do.

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.
My name is welcome to the community.

Hello A, NAT or Networ Address Translation is a networking mode designed to conserve IP address by mapping a port and an external IP address to a much larger set of internal IP addresses.

If your network is showing double NAT, check the links below so you can try to open your NAT.
