No Internet, no play?

As suggested by my colleagues, in order to play on the console in the absence of an internet connection, you will need to set the console to Offline.

If you dont have your xbox as home dlc wont work without internet connection

If yiu are gamesharing with someone else thats the cost of gamesharing

Its meant for your personal use and family not random people

Apps that are online only like streaming of course requires an internet connection

If.you are using media player and thru a NAS then it needs netqork.connection to the NAS

As a sailor, I frequently take my Xbox One S underway. There are various apps I can't seem to get working without an internet connection- which you don't have when out to sea! Photo viewer, DLC, Media Player, etc. Anyone know a fix for this, or is the XBONE
useless without interwebz?

As a recent internet user on my Xbox One I have had the same problem. I have purchased a mobile hotspot that I can charge and take with me to work or school and you can even turn your phone into a hotspot as well depending on your smatphone and cellular
company such as AT&T or Verizon. I'm not entirely sure what you can and can not have with you on your ship but you can definitely play games without internet. If you are wanting to access certain apps that require internet then you will need a connection.

There is some apps and games that is available offline but most require an internet connection

If the signal is poor at sea, there is no way. I suggest you play more single-player games.
