    No Install Disc Prompt when Inserting Compatible 360 Disc


    I've noticed on several different 360 games I own that are on the eligible compatibility list that when the disc is inserted, I don't get prompted to install the game, instead the system thinks it's a media disc and opens blu ray player, then throws obvious
    error. I've only found that in order to get this to work, I have to fully shut down the console and reboot, only then will it allow me to install. Similarly, when I play from disc (after installation), it says the disc isn't inserted when I turn the console
    on from rest, but fully shutting down and turning on is ok. Is this a normal issue? It's frustrating to have to always power down in order to play a 360 game.

    Question about owning a physical disc that is BC

    If a game that is BC is a two disc game will I need to install from both discs or even change discs when playing? Hmm, not sure if that really makes sense.

    If I want to play Mass Effect 2 since it is on two discs how will this work? When I load in disc 1 I assume the game will start to install. What happens when I get to the point that disc 2 would normally need to be inserted? Will it need to install more data? Will I even need to insert disc 2 at some point?

    As far as I know you only need disc one it installs everything and does the auto disc swap file for you

    Someone can correct me though if this wrong

    If you own the disc of a supported 360 game for backwards compatibility you can insert the disc that will trigger the download for the game, when installed you can play that speed game as long as the disc is inserted

    No, that's not how it works.

    GTA IV is a backwards compatible game. When you insert the disc the console will prompt you for an update (the update is actually the digital download).

    To play a disc based Xbox 360 game on your Xbox One you'll still need to insert the disc to launch the game and prove ownership.

    If the games are back compat, and digital they'll be in your ready to install list. If they're discs, you'll need to insert the disc as you would with your 360.
