    Hey folks,

    I was an insider member prior to rejoining just recently. When I had an issue with my system (months ago) I tried to update with the most recent insider build and it never completed. Would make it to 86% repeatedly and frustrated me to the point of quitting the insider program and cussing out whomever I could.

    Now that some time has passed and I've been able to rethink this issue, I find it unfair that my very expensive Xbox is rendered useless because of an update from the insider program. I was totally unaware that I would be at the mercy of their beta tests. I would've never chosen to be a part of the builds had I known that there was risk of this nature?! On top of this the only answer I get, after weeks of searching for an answer to fix my Xbox , is that I need to send my system in to be serviced and it's going to cost me $250?! Does that not seem like a money making scheme if you've ever heard of one?!

    Regardless of all of this, I'm reaching out to this community to see if you've had similar issues and know of any resolve? I can boot up my system to figure out what build I had last and offer all that technical info, but will I just be spinning my wheels in the mud? Have I been played out via this program and the only solution is pissing away my hard earned cash?

    Any thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated!

    Last Xbox X upgrade broke my system!

    Hi,

    You've said you've got an 'Xbox X'. Are you saying you've got the older Xbox One X, or the current generation Series X?

    I know this might be frustrating for you, but be aware that updates themselves don't break consoles. If the console stops working correctly after an update, generally it means that there was something wrong with the console before the update occurred. Correlation does not imply causation.

    it is only an idea, had this on my old recovered xbox and on my x right out of the box.

    for me it was the update from everything (apps, os and and and) what goes in the background some time after first setup.

    latency raised for no reason

    Similar thing happened to me a week ago, went from an average of 21ms to 156ms, no idea what the cause is. It affects both my Xbox One and an X, I am in the UK so I'm not sure if it's related. Multiplayer is now impossible for me
    thanks to constant disconnects. I've used speedtest.net through the edge browser and got averages of 16ms. I currently have no idea how to fix this.
