No Healing And Potions Instead..

How is everyone finding this? I am only a few hours in as I changed class and started again.

I currently find it a bit of a pest fast travelling to replenish potions with no mage healing spells to speak of. I have started on hard as well as normal seemed too easy. I have to say even in the first zones the challenge of the enemies is quite random. Some
are very strong and many levels above you where as others are really easy.

I really wanted to have a go at 100%'ing this but Nightmare is way too hard for me I think it will just end up frustrating me the first boss/tough enemy I come across!

I don't need no healing spells, I make potions that are better.

 

Yeah Me too being a veteran of the previous games, knew hard mode would be "hard" and it's brutal. The very first boss was a good indication of what to expect. You really have to learn each fight. I too am a little disoriented on which fights are what level.
Some post on other sites say it's written somewhere. I have never seen it. Back to your post. Yeah the lack of Healing spells is annoying but in the first tree at the bottom there is a skill to revive fallen allies and as a bonus it's good the heath potions
cost nothing (It could have been like Skyrim with the lock picks). Focus on getting as many camps in the area before a fight. Also i think it's by design the "world" looks bigger on the Quest Map than in reality. I say this because there are times i place
a marker faaaar away and then in real time walk there in 2 min so there is some spatial awareness there. You can also fast travel to camps. +1

Overall it's simply design choices. If you are enjoying the game ....ck it. Live within their restrictions.

 

Small tip, If you are in a fight and run out of potions, use one member to go around reviving fallen allies. They still do alot of damage and their powers/stamina revive. One of the mods i crafted allows for 9% healing on kill (great for large masses of
minions). I have won fights simply by reviving my team and throwing them out to fight, it seems wrong but ...

Ya, using guard and barrier isn't the same as healing. I just use regen for our of fight healing or backline party members and keep most of the potions for the Warriors, popping guard and barrier as often as possible. Another life savior is during fight
when the warriors has all the angro, guard is about gone and barrier is on cooldown, is to throw the 2nd level revive on them before they go down. That saved me during a certain fight on the Coast.

 

My main problem is I struggle with time to play. I guess this "problem" gets easier when you can up the potion reserve. I am still early days, hopefully get some time in this weekend.
