no headset mic streaming since March 2017 Update

Hi,

since the march 2017 update applied itself to my xbox one, the headset mic no longer registers when streaming from any of my windows 10 computers.

* problem started after xbox one update

* tried restarting xbox one

* tried total power cycle

* using official xbox one wireless adaptor

* using official xbox one controllers

* streaming works but the no mic icon is always there

* party chat says no mic detected

* xbox headset and mic are default on windows and are working

* windows 10 creators update did not resolve it

* running latest xbox and xbox beta apps

* clean install of windows doesn't help

* tried wireless and wired connections

* tried with the headset adaptor and with the 3.5 jack directly

* controller shows no firmware update required

* tried multiple controllers

* headset works fine when not streaming (i.e using directly on xbox)

i'm out of options, is this known to be broken? if any any timescale on a fix?

headset not working

Since the update before the march update, when i plug in my headset the red mute light turns on and my xbox does not register that i have a mic plugged in. All of the buttons are unresponsive. i figured the march update would fix it, but i still am having
the issue. I have tried reseting the xbox, removing the battery pack from the controller, and plugging the mic into a different controller. None of these worked. Is anyone else having this problem or is my headset broken.

 

March 2017 Update

The new update sucks. The home screen was perfectly fine before. Now you've gone and made it more complicated and unnapealing to the eye. Press the home button once and it takes you to the side bar, where you then have to click a few buttons to actually
get home. It was much simpler before.

Thank you for posting. First, let's start out by resetting your audio & mic settings to default. To do this, follow these steps:

• Press the 'Windows' key and search 'Manage audio devices'.
• Double click your main audio output device and a new windows will pop-up (This is most commonly the Realtek High Definition Audio device).
• Scroll over to the 'Advanced' tab and select 'Restore Defaults' (or select 24 bit, 48000 Hz Studio Quality).
  
• Hop back to the 'Manage audio devices' page, and double click your microphone.
• Scroll over to the 'Advanced' tab and select 'Restore Defaults'.
• Lastly, search 'Microphone privacy settings' through the Start Menu and ensure that the Xbox app is set to 'On'.

Run through each of those steps and let us know if that helps!

 

my XBOXONE s is doing the same thing happened after update

thanks, all my settings matched, but I did each of these steps again anyway so that I've done what you asked, but nothing changes, it still doesn't work.

it happens on all my PCs since the Xbox March update, and my gut feeling is the XBox One is the issue, not the PCs, but I don't know what to do about it.

 

wow, are we really the only two people with this problem?

 

have you installed the latest update that came out a couple of days ago, this looks like its fixed it for me.
