    No headset can be detected by my console


    Two different headsets, two controllers. Xbox does not detect a headset. Reset xbox. Opened ports. Nothing works. Called support and he said he thinks it is a problem with the software that microsoft needs to fix.

    Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?

    Xbox one s headset not detected

    My nephews headset is not being detected by his controller. We tired a new headset and also a few different controllers. It has to be a problem with the console. We updated everything and still not working. Anybody have any ideals. Thanks

  3. xbox one stereo headset adapter

    so everytime i plug in my charger to my controller the adapter looses the connection to the headset. so i have to reset my xbox while the charger is plugged in just so my stereo adapter can detect the headset.

    I recommend to take a look at the following troubleshooting resources:

    • Have you
      updated
      your controller’s software
      to support the Stereo Headset ?
    • Make sure your controller has fresh batteries. When the batteries get weak, some controller functions, such as audio and rumble, are turned off to conserve the remaining power.
    • Make sure your Headset Adapter
      is firmly plugged into your controller and that your Stereo Headset’s 3.5-mm cable is securely plugged into the Headset Adapter. You will know it’s plugged in properly if you press the mute button and the LED lights up.
    • Try your Xbox One Stereo
      Headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working. If not, the headset will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the
      Xbox Online Service Center.
    • Try your Stereo Headset and
      Stereo Headset Adapter on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try
      updating
      the first controller
      again. If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the
      Xbox Online Service Center.

    Try this out and let us know the results.

    I just checked the headset on my phone and they work perfectly fine.
    Do you have a second controller that you can check with the headset? Because it seems that the headset connector on that controller is defective, if not even sound output works, and the console doesn't detect the microphone.

    We thank you for bringing this inquiry to our forums community, and understand that this concerns an inability for your son to utilize his headset with his controller on his Xbox One console.

    A line through the microphone indicates that the microphone is not being detected, or in some cases, that the headset is not being detected. To test this, you can try the headset with another controller if available, or you may also try a different headset
    with the same controller if available.

    This will more than likely deal with the audio jack at the bottom of the controller, and we recommend attempting to follow our
    Xbox One Chat Headset troubleshooting support article as it provides steps to assist with headset detection in general.

    Try this out for us and then let us know the results.

    Thanks for replying, but unfortunately that does not help. I was just on the phone with a tech for over an hour and we could not figure it out. I tried unplugging the headset, unplugging the console, switching usb cords, switching usb ports, power cycling
    the console, deleting the saved data in the Xbox Accessories app, resetting the console (which deleted all my apps and games), checking the headset for firmware updates, checking when the last console update was (which was 5 days ago and it was working fine
    this morning), we tested the headset on Skype to prove that the headset worked and the Xbox detected the microphone, adjusting privacy settings, and some other options. Nothing worked. It's just odd to me that the issue just occurred today and that the headset
    works properly and is even detected by the console. The only issue is that it suddenly can't be assigned to a profile.
