I called Dolby laboratories and they said both Dolby sound formats work best with Dolby Atmos headphone amp and vice versa.

Same thing with the DTS company with their surround sound and their headphone app.

Both companies say mixing Dolby encoded movies with DTS headphone app or vice versa are both going to give you bad results.

I assume Window Sonic works best with lpcm movies.

If that is the case then why doesn't the Xbox One S settings have as a headphone option "best fit"?

Every time I want to watch a movie I have to look at the back and set up my Xbox to change the headphone settings.

Other than because you're too lazy to manually switch or cheap enough to buy both $15 to $20 apps, why would anyone when they have access to all three headphone formats not one optimally switched to make their headphone movies and games sound great?

Is there a performance reason why one would want to go all Dolby and forget DTS or all DTS and forget Dolby? Especially when both companies say matching the headphone format with the movie is when both say of both themselves and the other that's when they work at their best?

Why no "best match" feature in selecting a headphone decoder app?

    :)

HDMI Auto Switch Problem... any advice appreciated

I dont think there anything you can do if the xbox is still giving a signal to the auto switcher when on instant on. Only options as you mention would be to use power save mode or maybe get a 5 input auto switcher with a remote that way you could leave it
on instant on and only have to use the remote when your finished with the xbox, to switch back to sky etc

    Xbox wireless headset standby timing

    Hi,

Sorry, but none of the above contains an answer to my issue

I require a way to change to auto power off time delay on the headphones

Currently, if the headset receives no audio signal for around 5 minutes, they turn off - for me, this is too short a time and if possible, I would like to increase the auto off time

    i can’t Hear my game

Are you playing on a Xbox console?

If so, go to the audio settings in the console settings and set up the console audio to output game audio via headset.

In the headphone settings you can also set up spatial 3D audio, by turning the audio output for headphones to Windows Sonic, or if you have purchased the Atmos App (the free app only works 14 days with headphones), you can also set Dolby Atmos for headphones.

If you are on the PC, you need to make the headphone your device for audio output (not only voice communications).

Click on the speaker icon in the lower right, and choose the output channel for the headphone. Depending on your soundcard or USB headset, you need to select the proper audio output.

    Installing X42's with Wireless Internet

Actually they are all pretty bad including my latest purchase, the Astro A40's. The Dolby Headphone audio processors included are fine. Its the headphones themselves that underperform vs even cheap models of "real" audio headphones.
