  1. No HDR10 For Games

Turned on my Scorpio Edition One X last night, and puzzled as to why it is detecting that my TV can support HDR for video but not games. Watched a UHD blu-ray last night and HDR kicked on and looked good, but not activating for
games. My TV is a Vizio M65-D0 (Vizio.com/m65d0.html) that looks to meet all requirements. The Xbox is running through a Sony STRDH770 receiver that supports 4K 60p 4:4:4 / HDR on all inputs/output, and is running into port 1 (which supports 4:4:4 8-bit,
4:2:2 12-bit, and 4:2:0 12 bit) on the TV. I have turned on UHD full color on that input. Why am I still seeing no HDR10 for gaming?

    :)

Why HDR10 ( in category games) doesn't work?! It only works in category video?

HI GUYS! First I am from Germany so I couln'd speak english so good like youNo HDR10 For Games :(

I have a really big problem...

My XBOX ONE X only accepts HDR10- in category VIDEO. I don't know why my XBOX ONE X doesn't accepts HDR10- in category GAMES/GAMING. I use the original HDMI cable ( in the right HDMI slot at my TV) and I checked everything in my TV (Panasonic 50-DXW734)-
settings. HDR10 also works without problems at PS4 slim which needs HDR10 too!!!

I hope you can help me. Thank you!

I'm having the same issue with my 900E. I just tried your fix, and that setting did need to be enabled, but the X still isn't recognizing HDR10.

Under "Watching Movies & TV" it says "Your TV supports 4K 10-bit at 24hrz" and "Your TV supports HDR video"

Under "Playing Games" it says "Your TV setup does not support HDR10 for gaming. Games will not be shown in HDR."

I have also manually enable HDR10 in the TV settings. Not sure what else to do.

    Hi Dr Dobson,

Sorry you're having issues with your video display. With the HDR, have you tried plugged directly into your TV, bypassing the receiver all together? If not, please do that, and only use the HDMI cable provided with the One X. If you find that HDR is working
when plugged directly into the TV, then I would make sure all the HDMI ports on the receiver, TV, and the cables you're using support UHD and HDCP 2.2. Reading a bit on that TV, I see where HDR can be tricky sometimes. Make sure your firmware is totally updated
for the TV and the receiver. Also, make sure the video is plugged into HDMI 1, which appears to be the only HDCP v2 port. Additionally, it looks like there may be a "Color sub-sampling" option that enables the HDR10. I would suggest contacting Visio if you're
still having issues with your TV settings, but for sure don't go through a receiver until you verify you're good on HDR with the TV.

  6. Thanks for the suggestions - when I plugged directly into my TV, everything worked, which helped me to isolate the problem to a setting buried deep in my receiver's menu to switch the HDMI ports from standard to enhanced. Switched to enhanced and all is
    working properly!

HDR10+ on the Xbox One X

What is HDR10+? Is it a lot better than normal HDR10?
HDR10+ is similar to Dolby Vision in support for dynamic metadata for scenes in games, movies and TV producing an image that is more vivid and detailed like the directors and designers intended. It's an upgrade from the industry standard HDR10 and doesn't have
royalties to pay for its use in movies, TV and games. It WILL be the new mainstream standard in my opinion very soon. Hope this helps! I hope also that Xbox One X and S have support for HDR10+ very soon! Keep asking for it everyone! :)
