    I want to buy an xbox one but I have an older HD tv with no HDMI input. Is there any way to hook up an Xbox one. My tv has component and DVI inputs for HD.

    I can get a HDMI to DVI cable but I will have no audio. what can I do?

    Greetings, Learner! Thanks for bringing your question to the forums. We'll get this sorted for you! It seems like you tried the cables on other devices, but have you tried using a different HDMI cable altogether? I would be interested to know if replacing
    the cable solves the issue. Give it a shot and keep me posted!

    No HDMI

    Hi. I have had my XBOX 360 for just over a year, and it has been working on HDMI just fine, until yesterday.

    Suddenly, the HDMI port does not work. I have tested the cables on other devices, and I have tested the ports on the TV; everything else works. The XBOX works using the AV cables (but who would use those when there is HD?!). I have tried the video reset
    process on the XBOX, which did not fix the problem. The lights on the console and the controller are all green; no red lights ... like I said, the console works fine in non-HD.

    My question is, is this something that can easily be remedied, or will I have to have the XBOX repaired?

    I have to admit, I am hooked up to this thing intravenously no hdmi :) I need it working, as it is a critical part of my entertainment system, but I also see that many others have had similar problems, so I would be reluctant to spend a dime on this MicroSoft product
    ... I would rather invest in Sony.

    So ... hopefully someone can give me a good answer no hdmi :)

    Get with the times and purchase a tv with HDMI? Seriously, HDMI has been the standard for years and you can get tvs with it for next to nothing.

    You get three choices. You can get adaptor and loss the greatness of XBOX ONE. You can buy a good brand 1080p HDTV. Or futuer proff your setup by buying a buget 4K tv. Pick one my little grasshopper. Because that many choices you can pick.

    MasterShake1972 component will carry HDTV it does with Foxtel in Australia unless Xbox One has it blocked. If you want to upgrade your TV it depends on the size and budget you have there are some good deals under 500 dollars if you shop around. as for 4K

    Your in luck, Xbox one fully supports HDMI to dvi. in the HDMI setting you can even set it to, auto/HDMI/dvi. Your right about it not doing sound but you can use the optical out to get sound. if you don't have a optical input on your TV since most don't
    you could a buy a cheap optical to Rca adapter.

    The One has two HDMI ports: "HDMI In" and "HDMI Out".

    Cable box plugs into "HDMI In"

    Tv plugs into "HDMI Out"

    Do you have the hdmi cable plugged in to the right hdmi port on your console? Ot has two hdmi ports. One for hdmi in and one for hdmi out. Make sure your hdmi cable is plugged in to the hdmi out port(the one closest to the power brick) and run that into
    the tv.

    Check to make sure the HDMI cable is completely plugged in. Make sure the HDMI cable is plugged into the ‘HDMI In’ port instead of the ‘HDMI Out’ port. It is also possible that the HDMI cable may be faulty, consider purchasing a replacement HDMI cable.

    HDMI to HDMI is not the same as HDMI to optical

    its why HDMI cables and HDMI recievers were created with complex DaC's that also support optical, coax, etc.

    No,as long as the HDMI port on the back of your cable box is "HDMI Out", you will be fine. You get a HDMI cord to go from cable box to xbox HDMI IN port , and a HDMI cord to go from xbox HDMI Out Port to tv.
