No Games playable from another account even though its set as Home Xbox

Hello dear community,

I recently bought myself an Xbox Series S and set it up.

I added both mine and my brothers account to the console and set my brothers account to Home Xbox because he has more games that I like to play.

I tried to set it as home xbox but it didnt work so I thought myself,try it until it works but suddenly I wasnt able to change it because of those maximum of 5 changes. So I went to the help site and Ive done a survey to get an extra try.

Even though Ive got that extra thing It lets me set the Home Xbox but that extra try wont go away which kind of means it doesnt work. So I am now here trying to figure out how I could possibly make it work because Ive already tried to reset the console 2 times and even added my brothers account first because the account that gets added first should instantly be Home Xbox.

So I am now here to ask if anyone has got that problem aswell and if so if anyone could help me figure out how to fix it.

So I think the only other option is to contact Xbox Support to see if something is wrong with your account or your brother's account.

Yes youre kind of right, if im logged in with my brothers account it says that this Xbox is set as Home Xbox but im not able to game share / play his games with my own account.

Another weird thing would be that I can remove and put it back as Home Xbox as many times I want even though it says I only got one more try left.

Well, the only other option I can think about is still try to talk with Microsoft or Xbox support. You can try by phone:

Or in the live chat, choose other options to try to talk to the support and then when they connect you, explain your situation. I already saw other users having trouble game sharing and the support solved their issues by "refreshing" their Xbox Live account.

If you can't chat with Microsoft/Xbox support, the only other option that comes to mind is to Factory Reset your console and remove everything. You said that you reset your console 2 times already, right?

Try to reset it but remove evertything this time:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

On the Reset your console screen, select Reset and remove everything.

Keep in mind you'll lose all your games. Any save that is not saved to the cloud will not be recovered.
